With my milwaukee battery saw I can cut till the battery gives out, put it on charge and its fully charged before i load all i have cut. Each has its pros and cons. Battery always starts instantly, no carb or plugs to cause problems. Gas of course is made for long cutting times and larger diameter trees. I use both but dont knock a battery one until you try one.

Stihl msa 60 set (Battery & charger included) is a good fit for me. I've felled mostly birch, smallish pine etc. Don't know about gas saws. Small, sturdy, balanced, easy maintenance & quiet. -Happy Holidays!

I’d have to go with the gas powered one.

It would depend on i think what needs to be cut and how long i have to do it. And ive not used a battery powered chain saw before so may default to gas.

Both because if the one with gas runs out and you still have a battery backup

Battery. I have a 7 year old Kobolt 80 volt I put a 32 inch bar n chain on and works great! 3 batteries in continuous charging and usage I cut 160 ft pine all day, bucking trimming and right into my mill on the TPZ property in California Sierra Nevadas. Gas equipment got thrown out years ago. All Electric Farm. #Icehousesawmillandwoodworks

Well, I'm sure you'd agree...the battery ones are fine, but, to get anything done proper, ya gotta go for the real deal!

Depends on what, If I do something on my year then I'm with electric NAREX 1500W, if I do something away or in bad weather on my yard then gas. Electric chainsaws are great for own yards but must be connected to wall, batteries make them almost useless.

I have a gas one but I want electric one because electric one when I'm in the tree I don't have to pull the string. 73 iam.

I preferred my hand saws. More time yes, better cuts in my opinion. But gas over battery any day

Until battery can match power density of fuel and truly be better, in all temps, im sticking to fuel. Never had an issue with my MS391, whatever the weather. The same cannot be said about battery.

For something that small, battery is probably better. Neither if you are cutting wood bigger than 6"
