NHL 25 Wishlist: 4 MUST HAVES

Franchise mode needs the following:

- NMC in contact negotiating
- 3 team trades
- able to do AHL franchise mode where you deal with call ups, demotions and trades by your NHL club
- coaches have a bigger impact on team development
- better line chemistry system
- better Stanley Cup celebration with banner raising following season
- use of pregame props (san Jose's shark head that the players skate out under)
- be able to retire numbers of players in your team if certain milestones are met
- be able to interview more than 3 prospects before the draft
- overhauled scouting system

my wishlist for NHL 25: Fix the sim engine.... I dont want Chicago or San Jose winning the cup that first year, bad teams should feel and play like bad/rebuilding teams. overhaul of be a pro, add an actual interactive storyline (not just 1 player and your coach giving you challenges every 3rd game), add optional interactive practices and specialty games such as the all-star break and the winter heritage classics.

The Menus need to be fix!

"Explain why" is a really underrated point, it should be expanded to attributes and what they mean in both gameplay and sim.

I'm a 'Be A Pro' player and I'd like to see a few things:
- Full CHL Seasons
- More Hairstyles
- Interactive scenes outside the rink
And
- No more "PRICEY POND HOCKEY"

So many great stories involving it. It’s how I Became good friends with Rocco Grimaldi after a 3 hour long best of 7 series that went the distance in the dorms my freshman year of college. Another time shutting up a couple loud mouth frat guys that were bragging about their online versus rank at a party with a 5-1 first period then having beers together. Tons of more stories like this - The NHL franchise has the opportunity to be the greatest sports game out there because players need - actual hockey knowledge, real skill, timing, and creativity with the puck on your stick, strategy, vision, discipline, taking the right angles and positioning, execution, and finally some puck luck - a game of chess with the pieces flowing in motion over the board. It’s the only sports game that has the potential that is impressive to be one the best at. The focus of the franchise being HUT with all these 99 overalls flying around taking away from the integrity of the game broke my heart

For the entire game, go back to the gameplay of 23, they messed up the button layout and function in 24. For NHL Be A Pro, start at 16, first year of junior, and have more starting options, like colleges and the usndp, add more customization options, and make it feel more real, if you don’t meet the standard, you get sent back down, make it harder to be a captain and bring back the ability to be an alternate captain, and make it more accessible, like turning down coach and teammate challenges, and turning down bad contracts or negotiating for more money, all the way up to a certain date where deals can’t be signed and then really get a feel for the negotiations and thoughts of players and staff

I'd love to see a pc port but the sloth menus is number 1 for me. it takes literal minutes to get from the main menu into a game.

I'm not a game developer but I am a software developer and it appears to me like every menu click reports back to EA's servers and waits for a response before it continues. I don't know if it is just tracking metrics, checking for newer versions of the menu, or more likely checking to see if there is a new full screen hut advertisement to display for me before I can proceed to what I clicked on.

For me, the one change i would want to see has always been the same every year for me and that is the presentation. Presentation, presentation, presentation. Show the guys in the locker room walking out onto the rink. Show the stadium and the city we are playing in before the start of the game just like the older NHL games. That is probably the one thing I want. Plus, also a new scoreboard for in-game. The ones we have had the past few years were so generic.

I would love NHL to be available on PC so people with a brain could mod it. Like in NBA, I want the ability to edit player overalls after a Franchise mode has started. It’s painful watching Crosby for example go down to a 77 overall instead of retiring and playing in the AHL

We need authentic goal horns and songs in the game, or at least bring back the custom music feature

They need to fix the AI causing own goals and take out the the pressure system. It makes way too easy to keep the puck in the zone. If feels too video gamey imo. I can fire a rocket to clear the zone with Chris Pronger and their player will STILL catch it and keep it in the zone.

A randomized draft order for be a pro and a completely revamped be a pro with an actual story would be nice. The draft order needs to come asap though. Either you get drafted first or last in this game and its either to chicago or anaheim. 1 more thing is adding back being sent down to the ahl and being able to be an alt cap. idk why they took those out.

Bring the leaderboards back, on rivals and champs, HUT.

“Cared about the community rather than the profit” I mean it would be nice for them to care but caring is a byproduct of them conducting business and unfortunately it’s not a charity

Immediate improvements to the game that take zero development budget or revolutionary changes:

- reduced menu load time by limiting options and animations/transitions.

- remove back check speed boost. Max speed skaters on a breakaway shouldn’t be caught up to by out of position defenders.

- customization store with no cycling items. Team jerseys or skates shouldn’t be a time limited cosmetic. (Also remove hockey bags if the store is your only path to cosmetics)

- remove variance from competitive modes. Broken sticks, shattered glass, and fighting should be a casual/offline feature only.


These changes could be coded within an afternoon and immediately make 24 a much more enjoyable experience

EA is a rich company. They can put the game on PC. But yet they stubbornly refuse. 🙄

ODR Hockey Heroes demo is on PC, now! No NHL but you will take on the hockey godz in an over-the-top, fan-made arcade hockey game! Our menus are quick, too :P We also incorporate Hockey IQ as one of the upgradeable RPG-mode stats.

I haven't gotten to play an NHL game since 12 when I still had an Xbox 360. Since then I switched back to PC gaming and have been SOL. EAs refusal to port it over is ridiculous and stupid.
