The quality of these HAAS videos is really impressive. Other channels should take notes.

I’ve used Nachi cutting tools for 20+ years and have found they are absolutely the Surprising to me is most holes appear to have been reamed and not just drilled. I used one of their M1.7x3.5 taps for over 15 years and had tapped 1, 000’s of holes in pneumatic aluminum manifolds. It died one day when I accidentally dropped the tap and it tool holder on the floor. Really a sad day for me, something I’ll never forget as long as I live!!! It was like my old friend. It was a roll tap.

My shop is using those Nachi Aqua coolant throu. Love it. I drilled over 2000 holes per drill on mild steel plates with 1.5 inches length.

Helpful video. PS: To whom it may concern at Haas, Please ignore the ignorant and ungracious comments of a few old farts that think they know everything. Age does not necessarily impart wisdom or ability. Austin did a fine job, better than I would have done at his age. Nobody comes out of the womb with 30 years of experience but absolutely everyone started their personal and professional lives with little experience, trying the best they could to help others while earning a living. A man does not elevate himself by pushing others down.

So we compare a non-through coolant HS drill to a through coolant carbide drill... OF COURSE the through-coolant carbide drill will run faster! Besides keeping the cutting edge lubed and cool, the coolant is pushing out the chips. 16:46 Why not check the deep hole drill for runout and compare that to the HSS drill?Gentlemen, Apples to Apples and Oranges to Oranges.

Great video. I just wish I had a HAAS to use this info. I just have a Bridgeport EZ track clone.

How often do we have to use a collet that has obviously been crashed but for the most part it still works. A brand new collet in a brand new holder with a brand new high speed steel drill, sure then you'll have. 0004 runout.

Absolutely excellent. Always learning something new. Need my CAM to have those deep hole parameters. Can you advise which CAM packages have just a variable RPM setting for deep hole drilling?

Cant believe he used scotchbrite on the taper, what in the hell

Walter DC170 drills are what we call high performing. Reason for that is that in several case our Haas lacks of power to push the drill to its edge. Pretty common to drill 20 000 holes to general steel with one drill...

What is the technical specification for "squish"?

There's no substitute for a thru coolant carbide drill in a hydraulic holder in a quality machine. I ran over 5000 holes with that set up today in a so so material without changing the drill. Sorry it wasn't a Nachi. I agree with everything the rep said except on pecking and that could just the materials you're talking about. Also why use a retract peck when you can dwell peck? Deep drilling with flood coolant is the only time I would retract. Excellent video gentlemen.
