as an American that’s lived in dubai for basically forever, as jeenie said, it’s not that strict. i wear shorts and tank tops outside for walks and no one minds. that might be because i’m not an adult yet though. besides this, whatever the case, it is important to be respectful when dressing, so please do always keep like a little cardigan or something if you feel like your outfit might not be suitable for where you are <3 thanks for spreading all this info and love jeenie!

As a person that’s lives in the UAE since birth: remember that it’s an oven here 24/7 so DO NOT… I REPEAT… DO NOT WEAR WINTER CLOTHES IF UR GOING THERE ( unless it’s winter)

another to add is that Jeenie is right but when you go to other Emirates like Sharjah or Abu Dhabi they are bit more strict on dressing such as absolutely covering your shoulders and knees. Dubai is the most relaxed about dressing but as a basic rule it's always safer to cover till knees and shoulders if you are unsure about the dress code

I don’t know if I’ll be going to Dubai in the near future, but this is very interesting.

Its pretty much the same here in Qatar 😊 some malls are more strict than others and you are encouraged to dress modestly out and about (kids can wear whatever they want though!) Xx

Tbh people secretly do find it a bit offensive when others wear too revealing clothes or swimsuits… but they might refrain from expressing it not to hurt anyone’s feelings … if you do prefer to be more respectful to Muslims and Arab cultures in general the longer you dress modestly in public the better … otherwise it’s on you … they tend to be very hospitable there and are aware of cultural differences as well … just saying if any of you would like to take some extra step then it would be quite appreciated and admirable nonetheless

Happy travels everyone

That's very much correct. Although I'm from Alexandria, Egypt, yet it is the same deal. I like this channel so much ❤
The only tiny thing I'd recommend for anyone visiting a muslim country is don't say (muslim) as muzlim. Pronouns it with S and it will be much appreciated. 👌🏾

I lived in Dubai for 5 years and honestly its amazing, I think if you're going on walks or to the park you can wear whatever. Though in crowded places you definitely should cover up. I've gone to like 6 states out of 7 and it's really pretty there. I wanna say to anyone visiting there, Dubai Festival City Mall is a really big mall in Dubai and they have really cool water shows so ya :D

I spent a month in Dubai in 2004, and what you have said perfectly mirrors my experience over there during that period too. I saw caucasian women out on the streets wearing very short skirts and nobody ever stopped them. On an unrelated note, Jeenie, you look great when you’re doing your little dance moves.
