Frederick Delius 1862 -1934. 'Spring Morning' is the third of 'Three Small Tone Poems' by the composer c. 1888. This atmospheric melodic 'nature portrait' is a companion piece to his ' Idlle de prinetemps' composed a year earlier. Winter Night (sleigh Ride) and Summer Evening the two other pieces in the set also breath the freshness of the open air, so much a part Delius art, portraying nature in musical tones.

The video advances slowly from Spring to Summer following a path of seasonal scenes. with many wild flowers on the way.
Enjoy!

If only everyoine around the world could adopt and embrace the soothing and very melodic music of Frederick Delius then the Earth could be a much more peaCEFUL plACE to live, with much fewer wars and violence.

Frederic Delius is my preféré, my favourite composer, I'm french, we have Debussy, Vincent d'Indy, Jacques Ibert, Canteloube and of course Maurice Ravel, but the english and french composer that i prefer in secret is Frederic Delius his music speaks directly to my heart...

This is one of these many evocations that Delius wrote for our greatest benefit. He was indeed gifted for that, even if he showed his mastery in other domains. This piece is a pure jewel.

Jane, thank you so much for sharing this music. I’ve been listening to Decius since c.1990, but amazingly have never heard this piece until today 2 Aug 2019, on my birthday no less! What a discovery!

To think it took 50 years after he wrote this for it to finally get performed, mindboggling

So uplifting and soothing. Delius's music has always inspired me since I first heard his music some 45 years ago and it was a huge surprise to discover several years later that I live only 8 miles away from his birthplace. I have attended countless orchestral concerts at St George's Hall Bradford, but intriguingly heard very little of Delius's music there.

Thank You Jayne, (and Fred) beautiful as ever. Is the photography centred around Yorkshire? it's very lovely and seemingly familiar.
