Finding Transformations of a Function

Always start from inside the parentheses. Horizontal transformations will be inside the parentheses, like reflecting over the y-axis, horizontal compression (or stretch), or shift left (or right). Vertical transformations will be outside the parentheses, like reflecting over the x-axis, vertical compression (or stretch), or shift up (or down).
