About FNF

Friday Night Funkin' is a rhythm game in which the player must pass multiple "weeks", each usually containing three songs.[note 1] Each week, the player typically faces a different opponent.

During gameplay, the opponent will sing a pattern of notes which the player must mirror by pressing the arrow keys or WASD. At the bottom of the screen is a bar indicating how well the player is doing. The left side of the bar is red, representing the opponent. The right side is green, representing the player. Successfully hitting notes will increase the size of the player's bar, while missing notes causes the opponent's bar to expand. The player fails if the opponent's bar fills up the entire bar.

For each week, the player has the option to select one of three difficulties: Easy, Medium, and Hard. As difficulty increases, the speed of incoming arrows increases and the patterns of arrows become more complicated. The player's high score for each week on each difficulty is tracked and shown in the top corner of the week selection screen.

I wouldn’t normally comment but seeing how this is rewrite PRIME we’re talking about I have to.
(Sorry if anything is inaccurate or wrong just this is what I remember)
So first of all Rewrite Prime (or R.P. For this comment) is basically a Sonic who was THE god of his world, like is fully omnipotent and can do whatever he pleases. Rewrite, being Sonic the hedgehog, would get bored of everything he has done so he would turn to multiversal travel. He first met Sonic.exe and with Exe being with his whole “I am god” speech rewrite challenges him to a fight which he wins with little effort, trapping Exe in one of his red rings and proving Exe that he ain’t no god. Then he would go onto another universe and find Lord X. Basically going “huh, your this dude I have but older lol” being a bit confused. And asked if he was actually god or like this other dude on his wrist. Lord X was confused about that and they fought and rewrite basically kills him, rewrite basically has the ability to have the plot be in his favor. And then put him in a ring and put him in his other wrist. And then he went to another universe and met Majin, and again asked if he was god. Majin said no. Even still rewrite fought Majin which was tougher than the other two. But still very easy for R.P. Then R.P wanted to put Majin on his wrist, but since he had lord X and Exe he just put him on his ankle. The three wanted to try and escape but Lord X said that if he was the strongest and failed, there was no hope. Majin and Exe wanted to still try tho. They fight and somewhat escape from R.P but then R.P was screwing with them with false hope and then turned them back into rings. They tried again and again and at some point just squished them together because they were “best buds”. And all of this happened within the span… of a singular day. I remember this being in one of the streams at @Nominal Dingus he’s made a shit ton of music not just for rewrite and it all slaps in its own unique way. Thank you for coming to my lore talk.

Falter Alters Prime is NOT for Rewrite, but for Rewrite Prime, which is a version of Rewrite created by Nominal Dingus. The two share very different backstories, personalities, and possibly even powers. To cover the original Rewrite lore, you'd need to look into Thriller Gen, Trinity, and Thriller Gen Encore, all composed by Springless Music, the creator of Rewrite as a whole. There is another comment from @thatgamerguy53 that sums up practically Rewrite Prime's entire lore from a stream from Nominal Dingus, and I suggest looking there and/or the stream that Nominal Dingus made.

The thing is, the version of rewrite in this mod is a fan retake by nominal dingus which changes his lore completely.

2:08 this actually happens in the first fnf rewrite mod. At first, he cant move from his position, but as the mod progresses, he can move his foot and walk over to boyfriend. And the people dying thing makes sense cause in the mod, he says "let your spirit leave your body." This fits the 'god' role he was given and the fact that people die through HIS manipulation.

Someone already explained this probably, but his lyrics are a story, "fight fire with fire, burn in the flames" is the priests house burning down, "let your spirit leave your body" is him stealing souls, and meny others i can't think of

Correction on the last part he’s not talking to bf in the original rewrite mod he is actually talking to the player who is being bf and he also says the phrase” Bf is nothing to me your the one i’m looking for through the screen i can see more play the notes it’s so fun sonic loves to see you run through your fate you won’t escape when you die we will meet again” meaning that he can see you through the screen and is ready to take you to his world
