You are spot on Randy! To your point on yesterday’s video….the bar should always be set higher for the pros to make it more challenging….just like professional golf tours put tee boxes further back and restrict certain gear modifications for the pros. These competitors are the best in the world at their respective sports and need to be challenged as such. Hats off to Clark and Matt for speaking the hard truth!

It’s weird to me that Randy is focused only on FFS in high level professional bass fishing. FFS should be banned on all fresh water fisheries. The fact that it’s boring to watch on tv is the absolute least of our problems 😂😂

Randy keep up the good fight! I have started lobbying against FFS with state officials. If BASS does not have the courage to ban it then perhaps anglers reaching out to state officials will agree! I have begun that process here in MA where grass spraying, over fishing, ridiculous amounts of tournaments and now FFS not allowing any deep water refuge is destroying the health of our fisheries! I have also contacted BASS to inform them that they are losing me as a fan and then need for change. I cannot believe what Garmin did to Clarke! MORE PROS NEED TO SPEAK OUT NOW! Fans NEED to reach out to BASS too!!

i will say this. I completely agree with you Randy on this issue. I always have your back on this. But what i believe people do not realize is how much pros know. They just know you have some knowledge that the water is cold or hot, and that maybe its clear or stained. Most people do not understand what pros know, How useful the knowledge you all have on bass and how everything effects them is. Im not trying to give any grace to those people who do not understand but what they need to understand is just that. People out there are just " oh its just fishing who cares about FFS, Whats the big deal." People dont understand the skill thats involved in the sport like any sport. When you take out the skills then its just not a sport. Its just a free for all! I think people would really appreciate the sport more knowing the kind of knowledge it takes to bass fish, on top of the fact even with all that knowledge its still "Fishing." FFS has turned "Fishing" into "Catching." It kills the joy, and the excitement out of fishing because of the time and stress put in to picking out a lure, a color, and searching(fishing) for the fish. There is more joy in catching a fish because of the time and effort you put into catching it than turning on a spot light on them and throwing the bait out there watching them eat it. I found more joy in catching a bass fishing for it than putting bread on a hook n bobber where i see brim, or bluegill and catching them that way. The comparison is the same. There is more fulfillment and joy in catching bass because of the time you put into tying on the bait you "think" they will eat over sight fishing for them thru a video game screen just moving around spotlighting them. The public has more appreciation for athletes who put in the hard work at their craft than just going out and using performance enhancing drugs, spotlights, FFS, and cheater items. As a football fan i have more appreciation for the old days of catching a football before receiving gloves. Now you cant breath on a receiver without it being a penalty plus they still have the advantage of using gloves to help catch the ball. As strict as the rules are the nfl should take away receiving gloves to even the field and rule changes. Tournaments need to even the playing field between competitor and fish and eliminating the FFS spotlight is the way to do it.

I remember the old school mechanics used to be able to fix a car without a scanner because of their years of experience doing it…. this is the same with fishing….it should take years of experience develop into a good angler! Most of these new anglers couldn’t catch a cold without it!

Forward facing sonar is one of the main reasons I did NOT buy a boat last year. I don't want to deal with it and the people using it in my local lakes. It is not sportfishing. It is the end of the sporting aspect of freshwater fishing. Thanks Randy.

I just started tournament fishing as a co-angler 2 months ago. The other day I spent an entire day having to throw into the middle of nowhere while the boater chased fish on LiveScope that weren’t biting. I tried to get him to fish a specific place and he wasn’t interested. The eventual tournament winning boat and big fish of the tournament (9+ lber) was caught exactly where I said we might wanna check out. We only caught 3 fishing chasing this dude’s FFS. It’s only a local tourney but 2 of the 3 I’ve fished were a waste of time because of FFS and if it isn’t banned this is gonna be my first and last season, at least until I get a boat.

It's a real shame it has come to this, I started to love bass fishing, after I was given a Manns grape jelly worm, when I was 14 years old. My buddy and I were trout fisherman and had no idea what a bass was. We walked into our little local bait shop to get some salmon eggs to trout fish, and wanted to know what was in the big jar on the counter.The guy told us they were rubber worms, and we said "you use those to catch trout" ? He kinda chuckled and said " no, they are for bass. Bass, what are bass? Needless to say, that was the end of tout fishing for us. Great job Randy, I love your videos . Keep the faith.✌
