What I really think is yes, Andy’s Mom is definitely Emily! However, I believe that her real name is Jennifer but as a kid, she went by Emily and then went by Jennifer as she grew up. This also kind of explains how Jessie doesn’t realize that her original owner is Andy’s Mom. And with the story of Andy’s Dad and that he was the biggest fan of Woodys Roundup as a kid, it really makes sense when Andy Sr. and Emily (Jennifer) got married because they had something in common!

I honestly do think Andy's mom was Jessie's owner. In Jessie's flashback, you can see a slight glimpse of Emily's face before she puts Jessie in the Donations box. It definitely looks like Andy's mom. I think the writers made Andy's mom's name Jennifer so they can keep viewers guessing and thinking who was Jessie's owner.

If Andy’s mom was Emily. She could have changed to Jenifer

Or His mom’s best friend was Emily and figured out her son loved cowboy related things, Emily could have gave the hat to Jenifer to give to her son.

If Emily was a relative of Andy, she could have given him the hat as a present for his birthday, Christmas or just gave it to him because Andy likes Cowboys.

With Andy's mother being called Jennifer, we can always just assume that if they were ever gonna reveal this theory to be true, Jennifer could be changed to being her middle name

just realized a small detail, so Andy's room is light blue with yellow stars. When "emily" is giving Jessie away to charity she is wear a light blue shirt with white and yellow flowers, and they honestly look so similar and reminiscent of each other! I feel like it's too intentional to be a mistake, along with all the other evidence. The timing of Emily's room decor when she was a kid says it all to me...

If Jessie becomes Andy's owner in Toy Story 2, between Toy Story 2 and 3, Andy's mother should've personally saw or touched Jessie. Either the conclusion that Andy's mom is not Emily or she just simply doesn't remember Jessie.

Though I love this theory there are some things that contradict it. First Andy’s mom name is Jennifer according to the art of Pixar, and if Andy’s mom was Emily then she probably would have recognized Jessie. Maybe she changed her name and because of age she didn’t remember Jessie.

What if Boo from monster.inc is Emily? I mean... she had dark hair but, after childish the hair sometimes becomes more brighten. And Boo never had name stated and at the end of the movie u can see she had an Jessie toy.

Andy’s mom is not Emily. Emily and Jenifer were friends. So Emily kept the hat. If you look closely at the picture in Emily’s room by her friend. Emily is wearing the same shirt she wore when she donated Jessie. If you look closely at the picture on the left with her best friend. You can notice her best friends hair matches Andy’s mom and the shirt on the left matches the shirt Andy’s mom wore when she walked in Andy’s room when Andy had just ripped Woodys arm.
