@Wonderland222 A5 Planner & Notebook + B6 Notebook {Tomoe River Paper Notebook/Planner} Comparison

I’m really excited to share this unboxing with you. I love Tomoe River Notebooks and I really wanted to see this system in person and test it out.

Wonderland222 is a US based company formed by Liisa Roberts and Andy Panske based in Tacoma, Washington. Like many of us Liisa struggled to find the perfect planner with the perfect paper. So she and Andy teamed up to design the perfect planner system on yummy Tomoe River Paper.

Their system initially launched in A5 size which is available for both the planner and notebook for 2020. During 2020 they launched the notebook in the smaller, more portable B6 size and in 2021 they’ll be offering the full system (both planner and notebook) in both A5 and B6 size. Pre Sales will begin end of July/ beginning Aug and are expected to ship end of August/ beginning of September.

Their 2020 planner is an A5 weekly planner. In 2020 it comes in a vivid green cover but in 2021 it will be launched in the soft faux leather that the B6 notebook comes in and will be available in three colors: Midnight Sky, New Dawn and Twilight Forest. So in 2021 you can get A5 or B6 in both planner and notebook in any of the gorgeous soft, micro-suede-like covers.

Their planner is minimalist without color or added décor so you can make it your own. It’s easily customizable to your planning style and fountain pen friendly. Both their planner and notebook feature 3.9mm grid on 52 gsm Tomoe River Paper. The layout in their A5 and B6 are identical. Both books are page numbered and include a page for a Key as well as index pages. The notebook has 368 pages (a key page, two index pages and 365 daily pages) and their planner has 288 pages. I’ve included specific measurements for both the A5 planner and B6 planner below:

Thanks for the great review. I was looking at the b6 notebook for a project but ended up going another way. I like the layout of the A5 but don’t like the space they use for the date. It seems like wasted space, especially if you are using the notebook in a non bujo way. I think the B6 date space is better but I not crazy about the way they break up the layout. I wasn’t sure if ultimately the layout wouldn’t drive me crazy. Overall I am just happy to have more domestic notebook option with TRP. The wait for international orders can be brutal! Thanks

Thank you for the overview. I was willing to forgive the yearly plan page being on 2 pages instead of 4 pages like Hobonichi. The deal breaker on the planner is the stacked weekends. I need my weekends to have the same amount of room as the week days. I did purchase the A5 notebook. I really like it. I have not decided if I am going to get a Hobonichi Cousin for 2021. I did think this is a good alternative if you don’t mind the stacked weekends like I do. Of course, I am not going to find anything perfect for me unless I create it myself which is an alternative and something I am currently doing. Thank you very much for the review.
