Restoration Therapy: Apple Power Mac G4 QuickSilver 2002

I am a huge fan of older Macintosh computers, especially Steve Jobs era Macs!

In this video I showcase an Apple Power Mac G4 (QuickSilver) 2002 model that I found at a flea market for super cheap! An obvious motivated seller that even asked me "What the Hell are you gonna do with that thing?" after I bought it, and all I could say in return was "Love it".

I got it "as-is" with no knowledge if it worked and no way of testing it at the time of purchase. But I figured that for the price, I was willing to take the risk! If nothing else, it would be a fun project.

To my knowledge, Mac OS X Tiger is the most recent version of Mac OS that runs on these machines, however, you can also install Linux on them as well.

I ve got the same Quicksilver, except it´s the 2001 867 mhz model upgraded to 1.5 gb RAM and it´s running OS9+ Leopard. Badass puppy. It works fine.

That was a sweet computer. At least it looked better than the ones that were "Bondi Blue". I miss my iMac DV in Graphite. Looking for a way to recover data from the drive that was possibly partially formatted.

I have a 2003 MMD M8570. It stopped years ago when I tried to connect it to my new imac, there was a "pop" and it went dead. I think I forgot to power down??? At first I thought it was the power supply, 360 watt, but after watching a few videos maybe the off/on switch? I see on eBay someone will repair the power supply with new parts with a one day turn around, for $89. is this OK? Your video got me interested in re-newing it, it's sure nice to look at, and even ran windows program. Perfect for off line work. Many thanks for the video.

I have a 2001 g4 with a 933 MHz processor with 60 & 80 hard drives (one was bad so I bought 2 new ones) I only installed the one to replace the bad one because the good one has Final Cut Pro HD on it. Had to replace the GC so I got a good card that can run 2 monitors like the original. Got a 4 port USB 2.0 card (because iTunes complained about the 1.1) and I ditched the 256 for 3 512’s. It still works great and has my entire CD collection uploaded onto it, just wondering if I can upgrade it more to make it web capable (chokes on YouTube vids) and it only sees an iPhone as a camera, I can’t put my music on my phone... it is a beautiful paperweight but could be more!

please help me dear! i nedd to use youtube (Tenfourfox shloud work), i can´t boot to install mac os 10.4 in my mac g4, just the HD is avaliable when i boot the machine and turn "c" key, the pen driver is also not avaliable, is there some trick to configure in OS system before? (i´m using a burned iso dvd from net maked on a pc, and a pc usb keyboard)

safari was never slow on a quicksilver. Speakers were great, even if they only worked on this computer. The problem is getting sites to work with older safari, even my Macbook pro 17" with safari 6 and 10.7 is becoming difficult to use.
