I see many comments suggesting the capital should shift to another city. I strongly disagree. Toxic air, toxic foam, degradation of the Yamuna, flooding, etc... These matters perfectly reflect India's state capacity as it now in 2024. Why aren't the rules and regulations already on the books being enforced. If new ideas are needed why aren't the best people in the world being sought after. Moving to another location will not solve environmental challenges and the PEOPLE of Delhi will continue to suffer.

Could barely see shekharji in the video because of the smog

Air and water purifiers should be tax free. In India, it's not a luxury, but a basic necessity.

Factories hum their endless tune,
Blotting stars and shrouding the moon.
Engines roar with a smoky sigh,
Drawing tears from the weary sky.

The birds now falter, their songs subdued,
A muted hymn of a world unglued.
Each breath we take, a fragile prayer,
For healing winds to cleanse the air.

I'm 38 and all iv seen is standard of living going down, expense and tax going up not to mention all the other issues we seem to live with daily...I still wonder why I'm still living here... whoever can leave india... rest keep discussing these for the rest of our lives

The video is very informative and worrisome. BUT what about places like Ghaziabad? Something unique is happening here. Being an Heave Engineering town, industrialist can not afford closing the factory for a day or even a shift. So with the help of UPPPCB and municipal bodies, they found a unique solution. They have installed the water sprinklers near sports where pollution measuring machines are installed. SO the readings are always below the marks advised by Supreme Court committee.

I think we have had enough years to observe and understand toxic air using science and data. Now it's time to take action. We have this same discussion every year at the same time, but after the winter passes, we go back to our regular lives. What are the Pollution Control Board of the central and Delhi governments doing throughout the year? Their sole responsibility is to control pollution, but there is no accountability. Everything you mentioned in the video is something we've known and experienced for years. Now it's time to act. I believe you have the influence and reach within the government to push for action and help find a permanent solution to this problem.

Why can't we learn from China on how they massively improved their air quality? And they are still the world's factory.

Delhi is the worst metropolis in the world. It's not just the pollution but there are many cultural and sociological factors too. Much of the bad PR that Indian tourism gets is because Delhi is the first point of contact for most foreign tourists to India.

We need a better city to represent India as its capital.

Ban air purifiers in all government buildings. Including residences. Let's align some incentives.

Thanks to the Government, IAS officers, MPs, MLAs, CMs, Governors for providing such a good environment.

Forget foreigners. I myself don't want to ever live in Delhi. Ever present pollution and the risk of being scammed/taken advantage of (money and physical well-being).

But overall Mr. Gupta's anger was palpable in this one and he like everyone else has the right to be mad about this. It is just shameful. Our capital is a den of pollution (or atleast has the image of), moral and physical

Last 25+ yrs, India's leaders, government, administration, governance, policy making has been a utter failure in general and disaster for for environment, quality of life and other basic human index parameters. They don't have any solution whatsoever; What more evidence you need, it's all there for everyone to see it. Yet, Indian masses are brainwashed to NOT think, talk, raise questions about their basic quality of life problems. Even if the pollution levels rises to 100 times the safe limits, not a single soul will raise their voice and will keep on living and suffering silently in the gas chambers yet keep paying taxes

Stubble burning for two months pollutes the ncr. Then the fireworks add to it. Now in cold wether this will remain and fog will add misery for all of us

Thousands of Taxis enter Delhi every day to drop passengers to the airport adding to the pollution. Why can we not activate the Chandigarh airport to cater to these passengers from Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, etc.

Move capital to MP

it is laid back state,
They have the cleanest cities,
