Notes:
AppleG didn't actually leave due to the drama, that was a separate situation, but many of the other departures from the team were.
P.S: Mineplex recently updated their server infrastructure, and the decline is slowing down. We might see a Mineplex comeback if we're very lucky, but who knows?

thanks for watching <3

As someone who was a senior moderator on mineplex for many years, I can say with certainty that part of the reason the server failed was because the administration did not listen to the community. Whether it was because they were stuck on a high horse, or because they simply didn’t care, it was sad to see.

Mineplex was my favorite server in 2016. I played Housing to relax and liked that people could join and see. But then, the gamemode started falling apart. My builds were completely deleted for no reason, the private filter didn't work, and I was kicked from the server almost every 5 minutes. I log on years later, and all of my builds are gone. It's so sad to see them ignore everything and keep running like nothing's wrong.

I never knew Mineplex was dying (in Java) as I quit it after some time. I feel like many of us here might have too. Honestly, it was one of the most fun servers I have ever played. Sure, there might have been some toxicity, but it was tolerable. Some of you might disagree in the comments.
It does, slightly hurt, to see one of my favorites fall from its throne. I couldn't dare to say "it was just a game", since many, many memories were made for me.
R.I.P. Mineplex.
Happy Holidays, and Merry Christmas (for those who are celebrating it right now) to all.

Actively played Mineplex from 2013-2017. So sad to see what it has become today. I have so many fond memories of the server back then with modes such as Castle Siege and Bridges.

As a former Mineplex Mod, I felt like there was a huge disconnect between leadership (owners & devs) and the rest of the staff team. Mineplex also failed to innovate or if they did get creative with a game it would be left to die.

Mineplex is only still hosted right now because it’s somehow self-sustaining. Every owner for the last 6-7 years haven’t even played minecraft because they’re all investors, and if the server sustains itself when they genuinely don’t have to do anything, the incentive to just let it kick the can down the road until it finally dies off is there. It’s more or less been like that since the EULA changes in 2014, but exacerbated when the last Owner who ever cared left in 2017. I think this is by far the biggest reason for its slow death

I remember playing Mineplex almost every day back when it came to bedrock. It was awesome, especially cake wars. It’s sad seeing what it’s become now.

I was introduced to Mineplex in 2013 on Java. Never played it too seriously, just for fun. In like 2015 or 2016 I stopped playing minecraft. It wasn’t until 2018 I picked it back up on accident when I saw Mineplex was available to play on xbox. It was nostalgic and a lot of fun. I got into one of their games called Cake Wars on Bedrock. I grinded for a leaderboard spot and got to know players. Eventually started a youtube channel and was having fun there. In 2020 some serious Mineplex drama went down (in which I was apart of and was a main informant on the MisterEpic video). I actually ended up network banned/permanently banned from the server because of my involvement. I eventually appealed and came back in December of 2020. When I got back I was really only motivated to get YT rank. It took me a almost year despite meeting the requirements every time just to get accepted. All throughout this time Mineplex was always super terrible at communicating. They never spoke with the community. They never went out of their way to hire more bedrock developers despite me knowing people who applied for the position. They said they were looking, and there are screenshots. But they never hired help for the single bedrock dev. The server is a 💩 show. No true update since July of 2021. The Mineplex Staff are not the ones to blame however. I have friends in there and I know that they work their butt off. The problem is that they don’t get the support from leadership roles (Admins, and Owners). Currently Bedrock staff can’t ban for reach hacks on the server. It’s hilarious how bad it is for bedrock nowdays. Usually around the holidays they release a themed update. They recycled the same one from 3 years ago for the past couple years for Halloween, and Christmas. Unfortunately this year we never got a Christmas update. Nothing. They are a mess. There is so much more drama that could be talked about but there’s no point. The server is not going to EVER comeback. I hope it burns to the ground. They do not care about their product or the players who play. It’s a business afterall, and even though Mineplex is dead. They are still making a ton of money off of the young playerbase on bedrock who buy ranks and their skin packs and so long. The income is still there, but they choose not to fix anything. I mean, who could blame the greedy owners? If you were making money without doing much. Would you change? Lol, it’s just a joke at this point. There are still loyal players on Mineplex and I just tell them the same thing. Mineplex will never learn, and they refuse to change. Enough said (:

I played a full lobby of block hunt yesterday somehow and it was the most exciting feeling ever. I felt like I was playing with my cousin back in 2016 and my other friends and having so much fun. I got into a second game after doing good in the first one then the lag kicked us all out. It was a really nice few minutes of what it was like back then.

I still really miss the Turf Wars game. It was always so simple and fun. Build bases, shoot turf, shoot players, earn territory. It's sad to see that when they killed that mode and my love for the server they seemed to kill everyone else's too

i miss old mineplex so much man, it filled 2013-2017 with an absurd amount of fun for me. from casual stuff like partying with friends and playing things like castle siege, wizards, draw my thing, block hunt, and the arcade games to "hardcore" sweaty gamemodes like clans, ssm, and the champions competitive league, there were so many truly phenomenal moments back then... even in those days i made fun of mineplex for their staff and leadership team that could charitably be described as completely incompetent, but seriously their sheer complacency, arrogance, and mismanagement (i always thought it was funny how they still advertised mineplex as the "largest minecraft server in the world" on the forums even after hypixel took that title) over years and years made such a great thing fade away and die :(

every once in a while, when i hop on minecraft to play some games with friends, it makes me unbelievably sad to look at my server list and see mineplex sitting at a few hundred players at best... nothing good can last forever. you really just had to be there o7

I've been playing PE/Bedrock Mineplex since the week it released. I have fond memories of the server and still play it but it feels like since 2019 there's been a huge neglect of the community and being lied to over and over about updates that are coming "soon". We got a grand total of 1 content update in 2022 and it was just some new maps for a few games.

You know a server is going bad when a player (me) has tracked and updated the player stats that are available in Google Sheets for the past 3 years because Mineplex removed the perfectly functional in game stats system for no reason in 2017.

Really don't know how much longer it has. I feel like I'm yelling at a wall when I try and voice frustrations to this server.

It's really sad. First the hive and now mineplex. It was bound to happen but it really makes me side because I loved mineplex and it was basically what I did when I came home from school. Got home, did homework, go to mineplex, play games and I met a lot of cool people there as well. It's really sad to see.

I miss playing on this server so much. The survival games (so much better than hypixel’s blitz) holds so many memories for me, and Bridges. So nostalgic. I was so disappointed and confused to see how few people were playing when I started playing minecraft again.

I remember playing strictly Mineplex for hours about 7-ish years ago. It’s crazy to see how small the server has become.

Great video! I remember playing old mineplex so much in 2014, it was such a good server. I had a friend who even bought me a few ranks on the server (just because we played it so much)

Man. He called it 4 months early. Rest In Peace. So many memories from siege, smash mobs, block hunt, paintball, and many more

great video! the reduction in sfx really makes it much easier to watch :) good job! Personally I'd still cut out a few (mainly some clicks) but at this point it's just a creative difference. Glad you found the right balance!
