I have this too. The first time I noticed something was wrong was in Junior high. Was so slowly progressing. But the wasting really picked up with the hormones of pregnancy. Stairstep down with each successive one (4 kids) to the point where I was completely skeletal on one side, even losing hair above the ear. It took many years to get a diagnosis. It was not in the medical books at that time but part of NORD: National Order of Rare Diseases. Once we got the diagnosis we scoured all the literature in our University Medicare Hospital Library. Then we had to educate each doctor we saw (my husband has been a huge support in this journey). I've had 5 reconstruction surgeries with Dr. John Siebert at University of Wisconsin Medical Center.. He's the head of Plastic / Microvascular Reconstruction Surgery and has done hundreds of surgeries on Rhombergs patients. He's the absolute best in the world!

Congrats Mom on documenting your boys year by year ! Fantastic idea. I lost 45 years of photographs 7 years ago in a huge forest fire. I love that you guys are cherishing your time. my sister's 3 years older than me, and she just went through a horrible medical issue and it made me realize that I was taking our time for granted and I will never do that again. God bless
