Arkansas Secretary of State John Thurston hosted a sendoff ceremony on the steps of the state Capitol Thursday, September 5, for a bronze statue of Johnny Cash set to be unveiled in the U.S. Capitol's National Statuary Hall on September 24.

The statue, sculpted by Little Rock artist Kevin Kresse, will join a statue of Daisy Gatson Bates that was unveiled earlier this year. The statue of Cash will be transported in a Dedicated Logistics of Crossett freight truck.
