Показать описание
"He Mo Leannan" (Hey, My Darling), traditional "waulking song" (a type of Scottish-Gaelic folk song from the Hebrides, usually sung by women while waulking/fulling cloth), performed by Dan J. Morrison and group. Recorded at Briton Cove (Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada) in 1955. From "Songs from Cape Breton Island" LP. - - "The performers heard on this album were members of the last generation of Scots in Canada to hear and speak Gaelic from birth. They learned the songs from their parents and at milling frolics, where groups would prepare homspun woollen cloth, accompanied by simple, beat-driven songs".
