Most people don't know this, but after pausing a YT vid, you can use the carrot key on your keyboard to see a YT vid frame by frame. The carrot key is the one above the period on a standard desktop keyboard. If you do that, you can see the ball pass behind the cross bar. Also, you can see that neither ref was even watching the ball! Field goal was good.

I did frame advance and the ball cleared the cross bar, the field goal was good.

I thought it was a good field goal BEFORE I saw it in slow motion! Both times, the football cleared the horizontal bar . . . . The officials were out of position to get a good look and BLEW THE CALL!!

The kids behind the goal post tell the tale. The ones in green celebrate at first (the kicking team's primary color is green) while the ones in yellow (the defense team's primary color) wait. Until the refs make their call, then the kids switch their emotions really quickly. I think the refs missed this call.

If you noticed, the ball hit the top of the padding surrounding the "trunk" of the goal post. It is a physical impossibility for a ball to go under the crossbar and HIT the top of that padding, unless you are at an extremely close distance from the goal post. This was NOT the case. The ball crossed over the bar and hit the top of the padding surrounding the "trunk" of the goal post. The wrong team was given a victory in this game!

Goal !!! Clear as day!!!
Neither official was looking where they were supposed to.’

Without a doubt the ball cleared the crossbar. Kick was good. Easiest call to make if officials are trained properly and take their proper position AND track the ball all the way. Neither appeared to be watching whether it cleared - both appeared to be asleep.

I think from the original angle, the view of the cross bar was not interrupted by the football falling short but the view of the football was interrupted by the cross bar. I don't think they got this right.

Even from the second angle, it's hard to see if the ball just eked over the crossbar or just passed under it. In my opinion, when the BJ (responsible for the crossbar), realizes the ball might be short, he should adjust his position slightly to get a good, down-the-line look at the crossbar. This might entail moving a step up from a position behind the upright. When the determination is made, immediate communication with the other official is crucial: saying "yes, yes" or "no no."

This happened about 8 miles from my house. I was not there, but I was watching live on YouTube. I’ve seen it 25 times. It was good every time! I personally know both commissioners of both leagues. But since it was not a league game, I don’t think anything can be done, nor should it be. I’m old-school. I’ve seen mistakes made my whole life. You live with it. You overcome them. That’s life!

It was definitely good. Look at the reaction of the dozens of eyes behind the goal posts. The kids with the field goal team, celebrate and run towards that teams sideline, while the Home team kids react with disappointment until the officials then rule it was no good and then they celebrate

I had the same thing happen to me. I pushed the ball to the right post, and the ref under the right post (where the ball crossed) said GOOD, and the other ref away from the ball said NO GOOD. They ended up with NO GOOD. It cost us the game, and we protested, but nothing happened. We lost in the playoffs.

As a BJ, with responsibility for both my upright AND the crossbar, I feel like the best position to rule on the crossbar is back, one good step, behind the posts. Being directly under the bar can make this ruling difficult (as in this case, wrong). Scoring kicks SHOULD be discussed in pre-game, so both officials know which upright they will stand under, who has the whistle, etc. Even the signals they gave looked sloppy. Don’t walk while giving signals (Stop The Clock, OK).

That was tough to dissect but looking at the trajectory, the ball lost most of it's momentum and falling fast . The fan in green was reaching high, he caught it above head level and just dropped the ball forward . The ball missed hitting the crossbar on either side . Good Goal .

Serious question, why don’t they just hang a net below the crossbar to make it more obvious what happened?

They missed that HARD. I hope someone got the tape to the proper authorities with an actual protest, because that FG was good.

Wow thats crazy, as others pointed out the fans ON BOTH SIDES reveal it was good

The ref to the left side was not watching the ball he was looking straight ahead you can see it in the second slow motion shot

Never discussed in pregame. What's to discuss? Each official knows his responsibility. I have never seen a situation such as this one before.

The ball cleared. Slowed and magnified the video.
