Introduction of the Matrix Segment E-Paper Wall from old Price Tags

this is a very first look at an ongoing project to reuse these 3000 old Segment E-Paper Pricetags.

The main SOC will be flashed with a custom firmware to then drive each display via UART from Arduino / ESP32

How very interesting. This is one of those opportunities to see a thing that likely would not have been made if not for specific circumstances...in this case having a lot of e-ink price tags. It often leads to interesting, one-of-a-kind results...

Mich interessieren epaper displays die ich als Inventar anzeigen an Lager Boxen tun könnte und die per WiFi steuern eingestellt U d beschrieben werden könnten, das wäre ideal um mein Zeug wsybich so in Kisten hab wieder zu finden 🤔😊

Let me guess if not you all that would end up in the landfill in a 3rd world country.
If I would have these I would repurpose then as table/order number tags for restaurants and takeaways, would house them in some self standing 3D printed enclosure with colour/logo of the place.
I would probably target smaller local restaurants/takeaways.
I would also need though come with some easy to use programmer as well.
This way the waste is minimal, purpose as useful as it probably can get for this, and also worthwhile financially.
