One of the saddest things regarding Chester is: I'm not sure if he ever knew how popular Linkin Park was, or how beloved he was, until after he passed. I remember people dunking on LP for a while back in the day, especially after One More Light came out. When Chester passed, everyone immediately flipped and seemed to acknowledge how incredible of a guy he was. It's things like that why I always do what I can to let celebs know how beloved they are when I get the chance to meet them. I think a lot of people forget they're human beings as well, and they can go into dark places just like the rest of us. It's one thing to talk up how amazing these figures were after they've passed, but it's another thing to let them know how much we appreciate them and their art while they're still around to hear us say it.

I've met them twice, and the second time, Chester lit up when he saw me. He said, and I quote: "Hi! You've been here before, haven't ya? Thank you so much for coming again" I'll never forget that beautiful smile and those eyes. It was like looking directly at the sun. In September 2016 me and my friends met Mike and one of them asked him, concerned "how's Chester?" (after Chester had suffered an injury that caused cancellation of some shows) and Mike said: "He's not doing good, you guys." And when Chris Cornell passed away in 2017 I had a horrible feeling. The day Chester left us, my mom had to hold me through the night while we both sobbed. She knew they saved me.
LP has always had an amazing fan community (we've always referred to it as the LP fam or Soldiers) and has done so much to be as close to the fans as possible an it was so amazing to see how people of all backgrounds and ages mourned him, and are still mourning him. He was not only an amazing singer but also, along with his band mates, amazing towards his fans!

My biggest regret as a Linkin Park fan is not getting into the band sooner because when I first started listening to them it was a few months after Chester passed. I’m lucky to have the live performances on YouTube but I would give anything to see them live once

Wow. It has been 7 years since 2017. No wonder I've been feeling existential lately.

Chester was an amazing person and musician. One of my favorite bands and got me into heavier music. Like many others have said, sang like an angel, screamed like a demon.

Chester will never be forgotten. Him and Chris Cornell's passing still break my heart.

Favorite Chester moment/fact: When he was auditioning for lp, the guy after him was like "yea I'm out of here" and linkin park is like "hey man we'll still hear you sing" but he was like "nah you've found your singer already."
But top 3 fav LP songs:
1: New Divide
2: Leave Out All The Rest
3: What I've Done

7 years already?.. Good God... I must admit I would have loved a Linkin Park cover of Personal Jesus.

A college buddy of mine met Chester at an airport when he was 6 and Linkin Park had just released Hybrid Theory. From what he’s said about the experience, Chester was really friendly to him and his family.

One thing about Chester is that some fans focus on is about what happened. Yes it's a tragedy. But there's a reason the band made #makechesterproud a thing. They want people to remember the man and the music and to be an inspiration . Chester wouldn't want people to dwell on the end of his life. But to use his work and words as therapy.

I saw Linkin Park in concert and Chester stopped the show to call out people for groping the women crowd surfing and his own body. I still remember Chester saying that he was married and didn't want anyone other than his wife touching his junk. At the same concert he paid extra attention for the people in the cheap seats and the stage design was made so he could perform closer to those fans. Sounded just as good in the concert as on the albums.

Chester's death almost made me cry. Linkin Park was my favorite band for a long time. I still tell people they're my favorite band. When i would try to make music in my teenage years, i tried to mimmic their sound. It was bittersweet to hear new unreleased music from them recently. The songs are good, but hearing Chester is a bit sad knowing we'll never see him perform the songs live.

I don't cry very easily these days, but when I first heard about Chester's passing, that was the closest I ever came to doing so. Hearing that news was a punch right in my soul. Rest in Peace, Chester. We love you. And for the record, One More Light is a fantastic CD. That's my unpopular opinion, but I'll die on that hill.

He didn't deserve when was a child that horrible thing, left scars as growing up 😢😮. But unlike other people who tend do horrible things (including take other's life) he used in a positive way. Mike Shinoda made a great duo with him. 🎉❤

Rest in power Chester. I can't think of one great song over many, but one of my favorites would have to be With You from Hybrid Theory.
