One film they can never replicate. If shown how it really was it couldn’t be watchable 😮

Those that don't know, the Zulu nation handed the British army one of if not the worst defeat in history. Was a crushing blow to the most powerful empire the world has ever seen.
The sun never sets on British empire.

Why am I just learning today that Great Britain had an Opium Department responsible for raising revenues by growing opium in India for export into China? This went on from the late eighteenth century until Indian Independence in 1947.

For 200 years they were basically a massive drug cartel in India and massive drug pushers in China.

So apparently slave trading alone wasn't adequate for empire building and underwriting one's Industrial Revolution.

The sound of the Zulu’s was used in Gladiator the film,
Watch Gladiator and the scene in the beginning where they were in the forest

Zulu. The actual history is fascinating. They should remake it with today's technology in film.

Aside the bravery, discipline, courage and a lot more qualities shown and implied in this masterpiece of 1964 i think that the repercussions of Colonialism should be pointed out more..
"Advanced" nations became so, in a good amount by exploiting, murdering, stealing less advanced nations.
Let's not forget what colonialists OWE to their victims..

I've seen it twice and it has been a while.
They just can't make movies like that anymore.
Or they choose not to.
There is no John Wayne or Clint Eastwood anymore I know that for sure.

Brilliant movie, it’s still shown in Australian Army basic training, it’s shows courage against the odds, taking orders, holding the line, respect for the enemy as a fighting force, Bravery to the very end, I must have seen it twenty times!
