Send your kick to a bus

Grab a Pultec clone and we're going to boost the low end really hard and take the tops off

+8dB at 60Hz

Attenuate -9 at 3k

Now use the SSL compressor for a squashed but weighty kick

Bring the fader down to 0

Then slowly bring it up and blend to taste 👌🏻

You were attenuating 10k on the pul-tec. that design confused me too but the knob in the top right is for attenuation in the top end thanks for the tips as always.

Pro tip: The "ATTN" knob controls the "ATTN SEL" frequency switch, NOT the "HIGH FREQUENCY KCS" knob. So you are attenuating at 10k, NOT 3k.

The attenuate frequencies are controlled by the atten selector... 5k 10k or 20k.

Hi, it's hard to attenuate 3k with this eq. If i'm not wrong, the attenuation knob to the right only works with the 5/10/20k knob.

as others mentioned, the atten frequency is selected on the right. the lower frequency selection is for the boost.

Keep in mind this is the par bus channel. If you can feel your kick but can’t hear it you might need to boost around 7k, or am I mistaking?

Hey streaky. Before the comments get flooded can you explain what the analog button does on the SSL? No one seems to know. They all just say it adds noise but I’ve always suspected it adds some sort of transformer saturation.
