How we help cats outside

We wish every cat rummaging through the trash could eventually find the love and comforts of home. But the reality is there are more cats than resources available, and that's especially true during kitten season in the spring and summer months. During this time, thousands of kittens (like Tibi) are born outside every year. It takes a lot of work to get even one cat healthy and ready for adoption, multiply that by several thousand and we have an overpopulation crisis. This shouldn't be a problem at all, let alone in the wealthiest city in the world. That's why you helped us open our non-profit clinic, Flatbush Vet, allowing New Yorkers to access affordable vet care for their pets so fewer cats like Tibi are suffering outside.

Thanks for what you do. Nit many can afford NYC the way things are going with the economy and I foresee more dumped animals and those who can't afford vets. We are so very taxed but we still find more to give to shelters like you be cause we see the immense value you bring to suffering animals.

We rescued a kitten a week ago from a dumpster. We stayed for a few days and only found the 1. She's about 4 weeks old and was extremely skinny meaning mom was MIA. She's currently snuggled up belly full of kitten formula and flea free ❤ We named her Sushi 🍣

😢 it’s truly heartbreaking 💔. I don’t ever understand how people turn the other way. I get that we are all busy. But it doesn’t take much to make a few hours to volunteer with your local rescue or to open your home to foster from time to time.

The reality is terrible. I live in Florida and my husband and I feed a colony behind a dollar store and try to tnr whoever we can catch. We have also rescued 4 cats from there and they live with us and our 3 dogs in perfect harmony. People still dump bc they are a colony and think it's okay. They disgust me.
