In case you're wondering, the T-shirt states - "We can't fix stupid... But we can give it a court date."

I saw a video about gyms cancelling memberships of people who were caught filming in the gym and I thought this would be a much easier way to cancel a gym membership than what I’ve had to go through before.

Reminds me of a traumatic experience I had trying to cancel my SiriusXM subscription. Two clicks to sign up. 18 hours, 45 operators, 19 phone calls, 23 text, 8 emails, 3 letters, and a partridge in a pear tree to cancel.

I've said this before
My father in law had Car Shield
He passed away
I called to cancel the service and told them he passed away
They said they would cancel only after we sent them a death certificate
Car Shield will screw you even in death

If canceling is to be impeded AT ALL, it should ONLY be enough to ensure you REALLY MEAN to cancel. ONE "Are You Sure?" button should suffice.

The rule won't mean anything if the penalty for violation isn't much much higher than the benefit gained from violating it, and the rule is actually enforced with extreme prejudice.

Hell yes! Click to cancel must happen. If I can sign up on the internet in a few clicks, I should be able to cancel the exact same way!

Every year I call Sirius to pretend to cancel my satellite radio subscription just so they offer me the highly discounted rate to stay. Every single year I do this, saves me $200 for the year's subscription!

Canceled my Sirius XM subscription a couple years ago. Called one number they transferred me to another number where they tried for like 20 minutes to change my mind. Finally they canceled! What a relief! Now they send me flyers saying I can sign back up for five dollars a month for a year. No thanks!😮

I might finally sign up for a gym membership. On principle, I have refused to let my bank account be held hostage.

I remember there was that infamous recording of that guy who wanted to cancel his comcast service and was given the run around for 10 or so mins from when he started recording and he only started recording cause of how much BS they were giving him.

I gave my new to driving teenage nephew a subscription to Car & Driver. I had to send 30 emails to sister magazines under Hearst Publications to take me off their lists. I made certain they knew the receiving subscriber was under 18.

I remember having hidden and extremely difficult to find "buttons" on websites that you had subscriptions to for cancelling them. If you were lucky enough to find them and clicked on them they wanted more information about you than they obtained when you first signed up. Then if you were brave enough to enter all of that information into their forms a really fine print paragraph would show up with a "Confirm Cancellation" button really large. In those really fine print paragraphs they had in them that the subscription would be finalized within 90 days. Also what was hidden in there was a sentence that said if you do not confirm this cancellation via email that the subscription would continue after the 90 days. They would send out what most spam filters would flag and send to your spam folder for the "confirmation email" and many people had no clue that the email was even sent.

It was chaos i the late 1990's to early 2000's trying to cancel just about anything online. Today it is far worse as more and more places are forcing automatic payments and refusing to accept any other form of payment.
