Dyson Airstrait vs Dyson Corrale Straightener

Dyson hair tool showdown: Dyson Airstrait straightener vs dyson corrale cordless hair straightener. Which hair tool styler will prevail? I’m demoing each dyson hair straightener on dry hair. Dyson Airstrait even though it’s a hair dryer that takes wet hair to dry it also has a dry hair mode feature with boost temperature to style or refresh hair when it’s dry. So, naturally I wanted to compare the hair straighteners to each other and see how the dyson hair tools would perform all day long. I share my hair results at the end of the day to see how each dyson hair straightener side held up all day long.

I'm loving the results of both, the Corraled gets too hot for me but the Airsrait temps are perfect. I'm getting closer and closer to finally purchasing the Airsrait.

I have been using the airstrait all summer on my thick, curly hair and have been amazed how straight it gets with NO FRIZZ, wet to dry. LOVE IT! I tried it out on my sister’s thick, wavy hair at the beach, and she was shocked that she went an entire day and woke up the next morning with it still straight and without frizz! It definitely works on other hair types as well. 😊

I like the Airstrait. Bought one yesterday and will be trying it this weekend. I am going to blow dry my roots with my supersonic dryer first for more volume at the crown. Don’t want anymore hot plates, that is why I chose the Airstrait

I’d be interested to see a test of the corrale on blow dried hair vs the airstraight starting on wet hair to see if using it straight from wet is more like using conventional straighteners in terms of effectiveness and volume.

I live in a tropical climate and the Airstraight actually prevents my hair from frizzing, unlike the Corral. What the Corral does that my Airstraight can’t do, is curl and beach wave my hair. So for that reason, both are worth keeping. But for beach waves, I use the Airstraight, then go back in with the Corral.

Airstrait is DEFINITELY the way to go! The only benefit of the Corrale, that I see, is the cordless feature. If the Airstrait was cordless, it would be PERFECT!! 👏 Thanks for the review!! 😊

Great review!! I have all the dyson hair tools with the airstrait being the newest addition to my dyson hair tool family. I have fine but curly textured hair that is highlighted so heat protection and less damage is very important to me. You are correct, the airstrait will not leave curly textured hair ready for the day, as one will need to follow-up with a heat tool, like the Corrale for a more polished look. Personally, I do not love the AirStrait as a wet to dry hair tool for a couple reasons. One, it takes too long to get my hair dry since o have to use much smaller sections than I would with my SuperSonic or Airwrap. Two, I still have to follow-up with a hot tool, like my Corrale. With that, I have found the best way for my hair type is to blow dry my hair with either the SuperSonic or Airwrap then use the Airstrait. It leaves me with a beautifully smooth look and if I want more body, I will just pin curl it and it looks gorgeous. Also, I live in Virginia where it is very humid and I find that using the Airstrait my hair is far more humidity resistant than with a flat iron alone.
Thanks for yet another thorough review!!!❤

I have finally decided to buy the airstrait after such a long time debating it. When it first came out, I was skeptical of it. I mean, it's a tool that works in a way that we haven't seen before. We're all used to traditional flat irons that have hot plates. What made me drawn to it initially was the fact that it is less heat damage. I am mixed, half white half black. My mom always straighted my curly hair as a kid because she didn't know what else to do with it. My hair is naturally very frizzy, curly and thick. So even when i got older and did my own hair, I straighted it every day before school (unfortunately neither my mom or I used heat protectant because we didn't know what we were doing). A few years ago, I stopped straightening it because i noticed there were sections of my hair that were so much shorter than the rest, my hair had gradually broken off from heat damage over the years. So, I tried wearing my hair curly for a year or two up until a few months ago. It was a nightmare trying to figure out how to wear my curls nice. I wasted so much money on so many different products (gels, creams, mousse, leave ins etc) and couldn't find ANYTHING that did the trick. My curls always turned out frizzy, undefined, and dull. So, finally i decided I would go back to straightening it. I decided I would do it the right way with heat protectant and not as often. I wash my hair once a week and use a nourishing hair masque, I use a good protectant and then let it air dry for HOURS to avoid using too much heat. Even after 7+ hours my hair still has some damp spots, so normally i have to go in with the dryer and touch up on some of it. THEN, I straighten it which usually takes another hour and a half. Basically my whole day is spent doing my hair. If I get this I can wash my hair, dry it soon after and go right to straightening it and it won't be as damaging as 400+ degrees going directly onto my hair. I am excited to try it. I hope it works well for me. I have seen very mixed reviews. For my hair type, i'm not sure if I will get the results i am looking for, but i will give it a go.

You know, you can use the air straight for a blow out look. Just put a roller in each section after your dry it. Make sure your hair is still hot. I’m guessing you could do the same thing on dry hair. Smaller the roller the more curl you get.

Like both sides when finished with each tool 😘 but they're too expensive. I purchased the Dyson Super Sonic Hairdryer a few years ago now and couldn't bring myself to purchasing an expensive hair tool again 😔. I love the comparison video's so much 💕.

Airstrait makes my hair look like how it used to when it was much more straight naturally. I just love the natural look!

Thank you 🙏 you answered both my questions. More body is what I’d like on straight hair, and I will keep my Dyson straightener because it’s versatile as I can wave/curl/straighten/do touch ups. Awesome review 😃

Ok I love the air straight but for someone who is very particular about the roots I feel like the córrale works better for curly hair.

My hair is treated with magic sleek, so when I want to delay a touch up I use the air straight on the new growth. However, I find that it doesn’t get as straight as the rest of my hair. It’s great for drying and maintaining volume for the already straight pieces, but it’s not very precise!!

Also love how to córrale is very much portable, doesn’t make noise, and super styler!

I will say the air straight works as a two in one, you don’t need a hair dryer at all :)

Thank you so much for this helpful review. I have not used any straighteners but love my Dyson Airwrap and so I wanted to try a Dyson straigtener. I am going to try the Airstraight because I do want a little more body. It is confusing to read about them online. Your review really helped. I also want to avoid a traditional straightener because I am worried about hair damage.

Thanks for the comparison. For your hair type, both have very similar result so I think airstrait wins coz the high temperature of straightener causes heat damage over time but airstrait technology is hot air. The question is, how long it lasts with that look? I’m sure the straightener will be the winner. I use different hair straighter, my hair stays sleek and straight until I wash it

I purchased the Dyson AirStrait for my Wife last Christmas brand new from Best Buy and she barely uses it because of the weight (AirStrait @ 2.20 lbs vs Corrale @ 1.23 lbs). She will ask me to do it for her. If I'm not around, she uses her (cheap) twisting hair straightener brush from Walmart. Therefore, I'm thinking about selling the 9 month old Dyson AirStrait which was used maybe 4x total.

I have 1B hair. I think I’ll save up some money to buy the Dyson Airstraight. I love that it’s less damaging and will work wonders on my fine, thin, straight-ish hair.
