Welcome back to another Macy Makes Etsy "how to" video. Today, I'm showing my entire process for adding new products to my Etsy shop. I start with how I come up with ideas, then we do some research to see if it would be sellable, I create the product, and then I show the listing process at the end. Chapters at the bottom in case you only want to watch a portion of the video. Hope you guys enjoy :)

Thank you guys so much for watching, we finally made it past 26,400 subscribers so now we're on the road to 30,000! It would really mean a lot to me if you subscribed and joined me on my 3d printing journey.

Love your content. I'm just starting out with 3 printers. Made about 30 sales so far with first product I designed myself. But didn't make much money due to ad costs on amazon and etsy. Hopefully I can turn this around. There's definitely potential. Hope to see your channel grow and Happy New Year!

Macy video day is the best day of the week (or month, or quarter LOL).

I am about to go from working 6 days a wk to 1 (or 2) days a wk (mostly retired), so HOPEFULLY I can try to do stuff like this! I have a really good product I came up w/, but I think the best versions may cause trademark problems. I have to look into that more. I can certainly make original/custom versions, but the trademarked items would be more desirable I think!

Good to see your process, thanks for sharing! My jealousy grows w/ every video. LOL

Love your video. This was very helpful. You mentioned a spreadsheet. Does it have a place to list product too or just calculates costs etc?

I appreciate the info. Personally, every time I've considered selling my prints on Etsy and run the numbers, after you take into account Etsy fees, shipping fees and all other costs (electric, printers, filaments, packaging, etc.) aside from a "fun side gig" you really cannot derive much income off it unless you're a fairly large scale operation that your cost per unit is very low. That one item you saw, was like $14. After Etsy fees, shipping and other costs, you may get $6-7 net profit per unit which is not a lot. You need to sell a monthly volume in the 1000s of units (assuming you have that much throughput) just to break $5k before taxes. This is why so many pros go the route of custom stuff for cosplayers or they sell the STLs/3MFs instead.

Is there any other way to get the models?

This year I don’t have someone to shop for 😔

Doesn't Etsy just copy your products and offer them for cheaper?

IIRC that "1000 listings" is a lie on their website. If you do the same thing on the app, it will show the accurate number
