It’s very sad how soda is more accessible than water. One time in Mexico I saw a woman giving her baby coke, and a bunch of children followed us because we were carrying a water bottle…very heartbreaking

When I went to Mexico, my grandfather said that Coke was buying water sources and that it was complicated to get water to some areas. This stuff is real.

Years ago on the national geographic documentary they showed that babies couldn't even drink formula milk due to the water crisis and would have to drink coke instead. Growing up mexican never realized how unhealthy a lot of the food and sugary drinks were as a kid. Its insane to believe this is just a daily consumption nothing out of the ordinary in the mexican culture.

As a Mexican I can tell you that no, soda is not more accessible or cheap than water here. People have an addiction to coke because of the sugar. As simple as that.

The worst thing about isn't even the health issues that consuming Coke as much and as regularly as the mexican people do, but how the Coca Cola Company has literally monopolized the water sources from entire rural towns in the whole mexican republic, leaving people without water for everyday needs. It's truly disgusting.

Coca Cola has high amounts of sugar, and sugar has been proven to be as addictive as ❄️ in some studies, it’s a huge unsolved problem right now.

It’s crazy because I quit drinking soda in late 2019 to to be a better role model for my kids. Since then, I’ve noticed a drastically significant increase in my health. My kids also know it’s not good for you and tend to opt for their cold water bottles. It was a good change on something I was super addicted to. If I can do it, I know anyone else can too.
