Khosrow Parviz falls in love with Shirin, and on the other hand, a fierce rival named Farhad appears, who is also in love with Shirin. Khosrow lies to Farhad, and Farhad hits his head with an axe out of frustration. Khosrow and Shirin both meet, but they do not have a romantic life. Because Khosrow is killed, and Shirin suffers a stroke and dies from his love for her.This story was written by Iranian poet Nezami Ganjavi over a period of sixteen years, and was translated into poetry and then into a story.
