Woman killed in fire at Palm Harbor gas station days before Christmas

A woman is dead following a fire at a Palm Harbor gas station Wednesday afternoon.

She was not in the car at the time.

Someone backed into the pump as she was pumping gas. It pinned her between the pump and her car and the leaking fuel caught fire.

Sadly these fires are far more common than you think at an avg of 4, 150/year with 3-4 deaths per year at gas pumps in the USA. Very sad for the family and everyone involved.

You have to be aware at the pumps. My friend’s elderly dad hit a lady pumping gas. She was hurt with head injury.

The Florida Highway Patrol reports a woman backed her Nissan sedan into a gas pump at a Circle K/Shell located at 3470 E Lake Road just north of Tampa Road.

The impact knocked the gas pump onto another woman pumping gas who then became pinned down before the exposed gasoline erupted in flames and she was killed.

Very sad for this woman getting killed at Gas Station. I remember one time I was going to pump gas at a Sam's Club Gas Station and one lady drove off with her nozzle inside the gas hole and torn off the hose and gas stat spilling everywhere on the ground. I hurry and left this gas station concern that the vapors will initing and cause an fire. Gas is nothing to play with at all and also diesel. The Gas Attendance quickly shut off that pump and put down some dry sweep
