Three Generations of Fly Fishing - A Short Film

This is probably the most meaningful video I have filmed so far and only the second video I have shot that includes my father, William Males. I am also super thankful to have been able to feature my 5 year old son Eli in this film as well. Many thanks to my wife Rebecca for snapping some b-roll of me on the river to make this whole thing possible.

I always enjoy hearing how people started down their own path to flyfishing. And I found a kinship with Jessie, since I was very similar to him, just 30 years ago. I too, had a passion for flyfishing since I taught myself to tie flies at age 12. By the time I was 25, I was writing articles (w/ photos) for our hometown news paper, and a local magazine. I Started a very small fly shop, which taught basic classes, and guiding a few local trips. At that time the internet was just in its infancy. Life took hold, and lead me down a different path.
Jessie has a great advantage for the internet media format to produce and direct video. And with his talent, he is making outstanding short films, that promote his passion for this wonderful sport. Which has gotten my addiction rejuvenated. Now its time to pass on this great tradition to my grandson.

Beautiful video my dude. Love hearing the stories of how people got started in fly fishing or fishing in general, and love seeing the younger generation continue on the legacy of ethical and consecstion-minded fishing.
