I personally always make the bed(s) when I stay at an airbnb. I know the bedding will be washed immediately after I leave, but it’s respectful to not leave a mess behind. I clean up after myself, throw away all trash and leave the towels, bath mats, etc all gathered in one spot for the housekeeper to find. I empty the fridge and organize things exactly as I found them.

Most guest dont use the kitchen 😮 thats the main reason i rent an Air BnB is for the full size kitchen

Many people prefer guests to put all used bedding and towels in the bathtub.
Makes things so much easier.

Where we stay want you to take off all bedding from the beds you've used and put them into a provided bag. Maybe that's because they don't wash them in the cottage you've been in, they have their own laundry room. You do have your own laundry facilities for your own clothes because we're always there for a week. We always use the kitchen but leave it as we found it as much as possible.

I have the same check out instructions when it comes to used towels as well and we also strip and turnover all the bedding before the next check in!

My ex always found it weird that I would strip the bed when I leave a hotel. Used to work in a hotel so know how helpful a little gesture like that is

That's always nice pay to stay at a place and then feel like you have to please them. Wonderful to be given the privilege to both pay to stay at a place and then to have to worry about impressing the landlord as if it's a privilege.

I would have washed and folded the towels just to calm my OCD, and instead of making the bed when I check out of a hotel I strip the bed linens and leave them folded on the edge of the bed ready for the housekeeper to take to the laundry. This way, especially if I was given a late checkout, the room can be at least stripped in less than 10 minutes if it is not going to be cleaned and reset.
