Just finished SOR 2 on the Genesis mini with my daughter. Im WAY more excited for this game, than I am for 95% of triple A releases. Im so happy this turned out to be a great SOR sequel.

Yeah, the steel pipe noise from Streets of Rage 2 is my favourite sound effect of all time. So much weight and power behind it! Endlessly satisfying. Fortunately, that exact sound effect can be heard if you play as one of the Streets of Rage 2 characters in this game, so it's not the end of the world.

I love that they added the rally mechanic from bloodborne into a beat 'em up! Tremendous job by the devs (and thanks to those who worked on SoRR which in all likelihood made this possible).

Quick note - Adam has a Dash feat which makes the game a lot more easier when need to close that gap.

Also, this game has two boss characters that should be DLC playable characters because they are so fun and frustrating to fight against it makes you wish to control them.

Great review! You have to put the time into this game and start learning how to S rank and focus on using any move you can to avoid getting hit. Link huge combos and also link rooms. My record was 302 hits but I've seen over 500 hits online. I've logged 260 hours into my switch version. One of the most polished games I've seen. Possibly my favourite game of all time

Beat the game on normal, and hard already yesterday. My only complaints are how "invincible" the enemies can be. They can knock you out of every one of your moves minus the super special.

Very nice review, guys. I had looked at the soundtrack and saw "Mr. Y" and "Mrs. Y" so I kind of figured it was some type of twin thing going on. Thanks for the summary of the game and the great footage. I can't wait to finally get my hands on the game tomorrow. :)

Got the game, beat it, and loved every minute. I'm going to try the other difficulty modes later on and attempt to do so with my wife and son. Loved the music, animation and bosses. I hope this game does well, so that maybe Capcom and other devs would want to upgrade their properties. I love the emulated old games as much as the next guy, but this is such a well-made sequel, it makes me wonder what Double Dragon and Final Fight sequels would look like if remastered or done like this.
