If you turn off the green pointers in the Special menu (i.e. turn off "hand controllers") then you'll find the gloves interfere far less accidently with the cockpit

How Leap motion is positioned on your VR HMD? for better hand tracking should be positioned on the front bottom edge at 45° to equally cover the front and bottom side. This should provide better hand tracking, especially in lower positions. Maybe even fix some issues as well just by better positioning leap motion. Another problem is more ED implementation than leap motion limitations. Similar problems we got with gloves and VR controllers as well so this is definitely ED implementation problem.

What kind of VR goggles did you use? And where did you place the leap motion to test this? I've seen numerous videos without the problems you have. I've seen them use the buttons and wheels as well. So perhaps you could elaborate a bit further on you setup? People have even been able to reach the buttons near the back of the cockpit. Thanks.

the surroundings might be not contrasting enough or not enough lighting or both.. My leap motion works ok enough that I can startup the F16 and use my hands in flight (including the side consoles).. the thing that annoys me is that your hands are always there...

The New Pimax 12K Reality that was recently announced will have hand and full body tracking, eye tracking, facial expression tracking. I think Pimax said the headset will have 6 mini cameras that will enable this insane level of full body tracking. The Pimax 12K is supposed to be launching in Q4 2022. If Pimax delivers on everything they are promising, the 12K will be an absolute game changer for VR.

It’s specs are amazing:

-12K resolution (resolution of 5, 760 x 3, 240 per-eye; display resolution is double any other VR headset on the market)
-Distortion free hybrid Fresnel & aspherical lenses
-240 degree diagonal FOV (200 degree horizontal FOV; 135 degree vertical FOV)
-200 Hz refresh rate
-Eye Tracking with automatic IPD adjustment
-6DOF Full body tracking with 9 micro-cameras
-Mixed reality with 2 pass-thru cameras
-Mini-LED & QLED display
-Can operate both PC-based wired and wireless or
-Standalone VR (without a PC or console) with it’s Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 CPU/GPU processor
-Integrated stereo speakers with noise cancellation
-WI-FI 6e
-Bluetooth
-6000 mAh swappable battery for wireless use
