For that 53 block to last, cut off the tips of the water pump blades. By doing this it lowers the coolant pressure at higher RPMS that blows out the weak cast.

I’ve owned 7.3, 6.0 and 6.4 powerstrokes, 12v, 24v and 5.9 and 6.7 common rail Cummins. I currently own a 2nd gen 24v, super nice pickup, tuned and open exhaust. I’ll be honest, I am not at all impressed with it while towing. If I towed for a living, I’d stick with the common rail Cummins. However, I don’t tow for a living, just my own heavy stuff, so I’ll stay with the 24v and enjoy it!

“Don’t worry about the 53 block” lol. Till it happens to you 😢 I babied it too. 150K miles. Put about 6K into making the truck look and act new and boom new block needed… sadness. After 6K more and a new short block I’ve had many issues since to work out whatever the hell the shop did.. it broke down again today actually. Idk now. Maybe injectors or injector pump. They were inspected when they did the block though. So idk… just another day.

Straight front axle? Is that a stock option (maybe 3500's only?) or was that a conversion?

What wheel spacers did you use? I have a 99 24 valve dually and I just ordered the same size tires and I can’t find a good wheel spacers to use.

Just change out your thermostat every year so you dnt crack a block
