Catching & installing a small honeybee swarm

Swarm season is upon us and we are busy taking swarm calls, picking them up and relocating them back to our apiary.

Here is a short video of the process end to end on a small cast swarm we picked up.

Remember beekeeping is local, our videos outline what work for us and are not intended to be a prescription for your bee colonies. Although these concepts are generally endorsed by many beekeepers you have to listen, watch, and learn from your bees.

whenever I catch a swarm I've always put a small piece of Queen scooter on the front of the hive and also put a front feeder of sugar water on there also and the bees always stayed I've never had any swarms to fly away after I catch him and put them in the box I take the queen scooter off in 7 days whenever they get established and they stay and they're healthy I leave the box there until it gets dark when it gets dark I go back and get it and put it in my the yard and that's all I ever do and I've had success doing that have a blessed day brother I enjoyed watching and God bless
