A man is dead after a stabbing Saturday afternoon on a Manhattan subway platform; CBS2's Cory James reports.

That subway station on Chambers street runs steps from City Hall, the Brooklyn Bridge, and under One Police Plaza. It is the easternmost section of Chambers st, and ironically, the oldest and most decrepit. Leaking ceilings, mold, rust from dripping water, broken lights, filthy stairwells, closed off corridors and platforms. It's the entrance under the City Services building, where the J/M trains platform is. It is scarily desolate during weekdays; can only imagine how it is on weekends. That vicinity is very business; 9-5, city administration, offices, corporations. If it's quiet during a good economy, we are still in a pandemic where government offices are closed and employees are furloughed. I can only imagine the homeless camp within that station. Probably was some homeless or mentally ill individual that committed that. Hardly any regular citizens would be utilizing that station at this time. Very tragic and sad..yet another casualty of 2020. May the victim's soul find Peace.
