If ever a child was born to dance, born with an emotional awareness that can be expressed in movement, it is this beautiful young girl. To think she is only six years old and already capable of remembering such a long and complex choreography piece of dance is in itself an achievement. Add to it, that each movement, each step, twist, turn, hand gesture, dance step, was performed with a graceful fluidity, with a depth of emotional connection is incredible. She seemed to truly invoke a liturgical elegance as she graced the dance floor. I imagine that going to lessons is never a chore, as she seems to have a natural love of dancing. No amount of lessons especially at such a young age, can teach what she is capable of. She is gifted. Gifted with the spirit to dance and thankfully her family are able to support her enjoyment. I hope she dances her way through life. I also hope she isn’t subjected to external pressures and expectations to go beyond, to undertake dance pieces, movements or outfits that are beyond her age. I hope the music she dances to and the choreography she is given, is always age appropriate. It would be distressing to see her in two years time, dancing to pieces or music appropriate for sixteen year olds simply because she has the skill. I hope she has a clear distinction between dance and school, friendships, childhood, and other hobbies, so that she doesn’t burnout and doesn’t end up isolated from her peers. May she still be a regular every day child, playing chase, skipping, reading, playing with dolls, trucks, legos, doing monkey bars etc. All the best for a safe, healthy, fun filled future. 🇦🇺⭐️
