As much as I can relate to the somewhat harsh criticism that is to be found in some comments here (Mona Lisa moustache etc.)...well, no, it IS a masterpiece here likewise, carving out the horrible sadness of this song that lies at the core of this jolly tune and that was hidden elegantly by Becker/Faden, thus exposing and transforming it - it enriches the original by contrast, even. If you cover Steely Dan, this is how it should be done!
