As someone who's still pretty new to modded minecraft I really appreciate your commentary and little lessons. They are very helpful.

I like your teacher moments, I usually learn a lot. You can recycle leather armor. Take the armor and use a cutting board and shears you will get leather. Leather horse armor will produce 2 pieces of leather.

12:18 There was a mod (dunno if it's updated) called Moo Fluid. It was a mod that added different types of cows that would give you liquids based on the type of cow they were. You could get molten Ardite and stuff 😂 Anything that had a liquid form could be a cow. It was a little broken 🤏🏻🤣

I like how in-depth you go in teaching. I am new to modded Minecraft and so many go through it too fast or skip over it and I don’t know how to do what they are doing. I really appreciate your videos.

If you don’t mind dipping into minecolonies just a bit more, the forester goes nuts at collecting wood and he always replants his victims ;)

I’m not someone that plays modded, so all of this is very informative, I love sjin teacher

Sjin, you are fine. One of the reasons I watch you is for your commentaries.

A couple tips of some things you mentioned. Pipes does do round robin distribution with one of the upgrade tiers. I can't remember if it is gold or diamond tier upgrades but they will allow round robin. Also, for your sophisticated storage chests from the furnace, you can add stack upgrades to those chests to increase the amount of items they store.

At 12:21 there was a mod like this in the past, it was called fluid cows and it added a cow for all the different types of fluids in the game. If you had tinkers or thermal dynamics which added a lot of melted metal recipes then you could get crazy things like an infinity cow that gave liquid infinity from avaritia

if you use the farmers delight knife to kill cows, it increases the drop rate by 1. so instead of 0-2 leather, the drop chances are 1-3. you're guaranteed to get at least 1. same with feathers for chickens and wool for sheep. for pigs, it gives you a 50% chance of a new drop, the ham shank, which is 100% drop from hoglins.

for leather you can use a Dryer and use zombie flesh to make leather

Pretty sure you can bind the sound thingy to a location, so the sound is only muted there.
Since you muted Zombies that can be dangerous later, bind that to your home base.

Great episode. That was some nasty luck with the pillagers, they do spawn quite frequently in this pack. I’d say a shield is essential. And if you’re not making armour because you want to look like a farmer then railcraft has overalls which might be had cheaply.
Also you might consider making an iron golem or two to protect the farm in this early game phase

For farming wood…. A lumber bee is great and one of the easiest bees to get, you can find a yellow carpenter bee and a green carpenter bee in the same forest and breed them right there. You don’t even need the centrifuge, they’ll leave whatever log they’re duplicating right in the hive, just pull it out with a hopper or pipe.

The only way I've found to stop pillagers from spawning in my colony is to use Mega Torches, I've looked up the issue with the pillagers and apparently it's a base Minecraft thing for them to just spawn on the player- somehow Minecolonies must trick the programming to think that the colony is the player so they'll keep spawning even if you put torches everywhere.

I found this out the hard way when I started doing Minecolonies again and my citizens kept getting killed in random attacks (they would spawn in my city center and just slaughter everyone before I could save anyone it got to a point where I almost raged quit because I was loosing high level citizens to this), it stopped after I put down a bunch of mega torches all over my colony. Either you put down a bunch of mega torches or you covert the entire area to slabs that's the only way to stop them from spawning.

You can craft a feeding trough from Farming for Blockheads- if that mod is included in ATM. The Feeding Trough will automatically feed animals so you don't have to worry about running around feeding them just stick some wheat in there and it'll do the rest, you don't even need to power it.

I know, I know you said you weren't going to do Mekanism, but it would REALLY help you when it comes to sand, gravel, and more importantly CLAY automation. You can set up a cobblestone generator to feed into a group of crushers- you could even automate flint with it and if you need gunpowder you can use an enrichment chamber to automate gunpowder.

More importantly, if you use an extractor on farmland that is fertilized you can get automatic mud. Feed that mud into an Enrichment chamber and you have automated clay blocks- feed those clay blocks into the enrichment chamber again and you automate clay balls.

If you’re willing to do some magic, whirlisprigs from ara will farm wood and crops! Very natural and ecological! You could also use drygmys to farm the animals without killing them lol.

Build a Mega Torch. It'll stop the Pillager spawns within, I think a 25 block radius. If you still want to do MineColonies raiders down the line, that's fine, they don't stop those. It just stops hostile mobs from spawning. You might need 3-4 to make an effective perimeter, but it'll stop the pillager raids. The Bad Omen potions make Pillager Raids optional, rather than automatically triggering if you enter a Village, they don't attract more Pillagers.

Leather and mining tip: Looting on your sword and Fortune on your pickaxe. This is especially important for iron, diamond and gold - they are affected by Fortune and the mods are balanced assuming you are using it! Even level 1 enchants help at the start.

I usually come to these when I playing through the mods myself when I don't understand something so the 'teacher moments' are super helpful.

I don’t watch your videos for excitement, I watch them for comfort. I must have seen you build a cobble generator of some form at least 15 times, and it’s boring, but it’s comforting and I’ll watch again and again.
