Intake you all down to the private creek property to get the lumber we milled and what I discovered surprised me, I found evidence of the power company coming in our land unannounced and spraying everything under the right of way.

Sean I bought 9 acres. There was beautiful huge cypress and oak trees. It also has a creek running through it. I bought pecan, plum, peach, apple trees and thornless blackberry bushes. The 2nd year after I had planted them electric company came thru and sprayed the right away. They killed 80% of them. I was furious and let them know about it. They said well you shouldn't have planted them. The pecan trees eas across the driveway from the lines. I told them to come out and see what the crew did and at least pay for the pecan trees and I was told not to hold my breath.

My friend was an organic farmer (not certified, but used all the same methods) and he arranged with the power company to not come on our property, and he would keep the vegetation mowed. This system worked well for both the power company and him.

Keeping the brush free from under the power lines is very very important! There have been several forest fires in the NW that started by the heat or power lines that fall on to a brush covered area. Keeping it clear can prevent huge fires from happening, especially during the hot months of summer.

A lot of bee keepers don't want spray in our area.

We have a small farm with a 1000 ft of road frontage. They used to leave a notice on our front doorknob before they sprayed, but this year they didn’t. Since we’re not growing/selling anything organic we’ll let it slide since it killed a bunch of poison ivy and Johnson grass! Still ain’t right though.

My father was a lineman for over 37 years. He used to tell stories of people not wanting them in the yard yet it was in the 20’s, they had no electricity and there was a foot of snow on the ground

here in Washington State if you don't want right away sprayed
people put up signs that say no spray or not to spary
But you can be responsible to eliminate evasive or obnoxious weeds if not government agencies will and bill you right a way or not

Fyi we tried to raise potatoes on the land where it was sprayed 10 years earlier. The potatoes would not make hardly at all. We did not grow as much as we planted .Mom and dad came down with cancar after that but it was caught real early and they survived with due to early detection. That spray is bad

It's good that the power companies keep the trees trimmed around the power lines. All your animals look like they're doing good. Good that you checked before you took the bobcat in to get it serviced. GOD bless y'all.

The power company would come through about 30 yrs ago to trim or remove the trees under the lines at the back of our lot and removed all the trimmings. They stopped years ago and we have several outages each year, many 24-48 hrs. Neighbors won't maintain their dying trees, so branches or trees fall onto the lines in storms. Then they leave everything laying where it falls, bending and breaking other trees. It took a great amount of time and energy to clean up the mess this last time. Now I am planting new seedlings in my woods, but my neighbor has two dead trees that will likely fall and break my new trees. He won't do anything, I asked. It is so frustrating. My neighbor benefits from my woods, because of the privacy it gives him, but he won't maintain the few trees on his side. I dread the power company coming through to trim trees. They do not give any warning. No one sprays weed killers around here that I know of. I guess all you can do is keep the right of ways trimmed yourself and post no spray signs. Remember, the government does Not Care about you.

I have had the power cut down 2 trees. One of them was a huge palm. They trim the rest. They haul off the cuttings and the best part is I don't pay for it. Directly anyways. If I had your property, I would use that easement as the driveway. It's totally straight. Probably do 100 MPH on it. 👍

I live in Kentucky and they will cut the trees down 20ft. on both sides of the power lines. They keep the ground clear also. I get a phone call from the Power Company and they let me know when they go onto my property. They leave the cut trees cut in 10 foot in a nice pile and it is all mine. I have a guy who cuts trees for income and he ask me if he can have the tree, and we barter. He pulls the trees out and I get Bush Hogging done around my house. I have 30 acres and I am 68 years. I think we have a nice system going on. If the wood would lay there and start rotting it's a fire hazard for me. It's a fair trade for me.

Great video. Yes the power company should have called you. They do a great job to protect us. It is hard work in good condition. When it is hot like this they should be praised

Good evening from northern Minnesota. I can't wait to see this enclosure when its done. It's gonna look great just like everything else you have built there. Having the sawmill is an absolute game changer for you.
