Thank you so much for the Lumberjanes I have seen far, far too many booktubers complain about a book that is so incredibly positive and does such an effortless job at displaying healthy relationships and a wonderful level of diversity. I need more people to understand how fantastic it is.

Also, thank you for all of what you said about Me Before You. I think I wound up giving it 3 stars when I read it but I feel like it was because I couldn't articulate what bothered me so much about the book and it caused me to give it far more credit than it was due. I felt emotionally manipulated for awful, disgusting reasons. I feel like hearing all of this articulated so well finally got me to understand why I reacted so differently to the book than so many other people who read it. Definitely time to reconsider and drop that rating.

CHEW!! I love reading this comic, ever since the first vol it's been a winner in my book. The little funny details that you can see in the background always add just one more element of funny to the story. It's funny that you dislike, Me Before You, cause having never read the book, I saw it like you did, romancing a disability isn't okay. And I'm glad to see that my "no rush to read that sh*t" attitude is valid.

Thank you for sharing your feelings on Me Before You. You are the only Booktuber I've seen voice an opinion like that, and I couldn't agree with you more. I legitimately felt like I was the only person to feel that way. Also, thank you for bring so much positive light to the masterpiece that is the Captive Prince Trilogy. You channel is so refreshing and I'm so glad I stumbled upon it! <3

I'm so excited to read "A Little Life." I'm looking forward to your review when you're done. It's so long and intimidating but I hope it'll be worth it.

Re-Reading Song of Achilles is never a bad thing!
And yes to all your thoughts about Me Before You. There are so many problems with it.

Oh gosh, I should definitely reread The Song of Achilles what a great idea.

I love that you let Me Before You HAVE IT! My partner was sitting next to me when I was watching this video and he was like "OMG HELL YES that's the book you didn't like, right?!" when you called it trash. lol. So you just gained a nonbookish fan.

Another brilliant video, as usual.

Hello, thought this was a nice opportunity to thank you for introducing me to all these fantastic books! My list of 'need to read' has certainly grown since i subscribed to you. Because i watched your videos, i read 'The Song of Achilles' and 'The Darkest Part of the Forest'. I decided to start the Raven Cycle and the last two days i have devoured 'The Raven Boys' and I am so in love! I just want to lock myself away in my room and read them all in one sitting.
I will proably also start 'Captive Prince' and 'Aristotle and Dante', beasically because I need more queer characters in my life. And without you I probably would never have found those beautiful books! Also, I love how enthusiatic you talk about your book, it makes me relate so much. <3
PS: my sister always said that 'Me before you' is her favourite love story and I have never read it. Now I am afraid for my sister's taste, because i trust your's.

Okay, so King Rising is everything and we already agreed on it. Song of Achilles still waits for me, as well as A Little Life. ME BEFORE YOU IS WAITING FOR ME, BUT I WON'T BE COMING :D

I AM IN SUSPENSE!! I need to know how you felt about A Little Life. I've heard both great and not great things, so I've been hesitant to pick it up as of yet, even though I keep thinking it might be a book to inflict much literary angst upon my soul.

I am so glad you loved Lumberjanes!!! I love that series so freaking much! hahaha so much, in fact, that a friend and I cosplayed a couple of the characters for a comic convention we went to. It's so great.

I failed SlayThatSeries pretty hardcore, haha, so I'm reading the second Fairyland book at the moment. Days of Blood and Starlight devastated me!!! I'm not entirely sure why it affected me so deeply, but it was just so grim, so it took me the entire readathon to read.

This video made me laugh so much, but I promise it's in 100% sympathy because it's exactly how I felt after Kings Rising! I haven't stopped hurting since I finished it, tbh. I made the mistake of flicking through it a bit last week and it just killed me all over again and so now obviously I need to reread the whole book because I'm not suffering enough, you know XD I think your strategy of reading painful books is a worthwhile one. I mean, you're already in pain so a little more isn't going to matter, right?

(I really really need to get around to reading Lumberjanes, wow)

KINGS RISING!!! I still haven't moved on. (This is going to be me again in April with The Raven King if I'm being honest.)

While I am somewhat bummed over your hatred for Me Before You, and can't really relate, you know I can RESPECT!

I'm surrounded by children with special needs on a daily basis, and am constantly inspired by them, so I didn't feel like Lou's inspiration from Will was necessarily a bad thing. If anything, I kind of felt like she was more inspired by his outlook on life rather than his disability. Still, I can definitely see why the subject could come off as trite. (Side note: One of my gripes with the story was that I would have liked to have seen a less obvious disability displayed in the book. Something lesser known that could've educated a lot of people on through the huge following this book has received.)

As far as the romance goes, THERE DID NOT HAVE TO BE ONE. In fact for the majority of this story, I felt it was better suited as a budding friendship, and that's another one of my gripes tbh. Romance sells though! You know how it goes. xP

Anyway, yes, your opinion has definitely made me think harder about my experience with this book. Maybe I will reread sometime in the future with a different perspective -- at the same time, I would hate to reread it and have an opinion so different than my initial one, so we shall see.

Oh snap Adriana, the honeymoon phase is over. We finally disagreed on a book! *WHAT IS THE WORLD COMING TO?!!!* ;D <3

p.s. I am reading The Song of Achilles this year if it kills me. I've just been debating recently if I should read the holy trilogy (Odyssey, Iliad, Aeneid) before jumping into Greek retellings. Can't quite make up my mind, as I know it shall be hella time consuming. The fear is real.

Just read the first volume of chew, and I'm already so in for the rear of the series. I watched Mercedes' review on the little life and it had me laughing so hard. I'll for sure not be reading it

I would actually be interested in seeing a full review/rant of Me Before You from you. Like you said you are very much in the minority in hating this book and I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts as to why. Personally I loved the story, but I can see where you are coming from. What is interesting is that I am currently halfway through the sequel and * spoilers, though you are probably not going to read it anyway * Louisa still hasn't achieved anything. It is 2 years past Wills' death and though she at first tried to live boldly as he asked her to she hasn't done anything and is still in the same dead end job. So in that sense it wasn't a typical "i'll live life to the fullest because you can't" story, even in Me Before You it never came across that way to me, despite all the adventures Lou and Will took it was always Lou trying to make Will happy she never thought about herself and pushing herself outside the box. Also what I enjoyed so much about the story was that it wasn't a typical story where one party changes for the other or because of them. There were these 2 people who shared a deep love (tho not necessarily a romantic one) but they still stayed true to their personalities and their choices.
