We are on the ex-B&O Keystone sub on the east slope of Sand Patch grade on April 7th 1991. Chessie units are still plenty, but CSX units, and CSXT patches are beginning to show up more and more.
We are at several locations, as we watch the good looking Chessie units pass the VHS camera.

1---Chessie B&O GP40 #6201 is about to enter the east side of Sand Patch tunnel. The top of Sand Patch grade.
2---Chessie B&O SD40-2 #8252-#8242 with a eastbound auto rack train at Fort Hill.
3---Chessie C&O SD50's #8626-#8630-SBD #8623 drops down grade with westbound coal at Fort Hill.
4---Chessie CSXT GP40 #6099 leads a eastbound R136 at Markleton.

Nice video! My dad retired from the C&O, I recently found his log book. It mentions locomotive 6201 many times.

Hello Jack! You never fail to make my day! This was awesome and an awesome time in railroad history! Loved the Chessie power and old CSX blue/gray scheme. Excellent catches and notch eights. God bless brother.

These old locomotives just sounds better than new locomotives. In finland we have still in active everyday useloomotives made 60 years ago, works like a charm, alltought they have been refurbished several times. In steep hills you can hear the Dv12 series units from far away, once there was three of them (maximum in finland that they can hiook up to pull together) pulling heavy ammonium train to steep and rather long hill, I joined two cuos of coffee sitting and listening it approaching, untill i needed to stand u and wait to take some photos. I only can imagine what it has been to stnd those locations filmed and hear the eight locomotives engines to echo on that steep canyon. Nice videos from older and many fallen flags, thanks and greetings from rainy finland.

Crews did an excellent job with that roadbed and track. That's a piece if work right there. Also, Chessie liked GP40's and had lots of monstrous 3600/3800 hp SD50's. Read that the SD50 was a problem locomotive and some engineers not happy with the ride quality.
