2: As a New Zealander, I'm deeply terrified of Weta's I've been nipped by one and it was exceptionally painful and now I can't look at them the same way. They are basically mini dinosaurs, which is simultaneously awesome and horrifying!

The Tarantula Hawks around my house are quite friendly with me. I've picked them up before when they got in the house. As long as you don't squeeze them they won't sting you. Plus they destroy all the spiders on my front porch. Fun to watch.
