The genetic algorithm in this video attempts to minimize the variance of the points in the cloud, when it incurs a fixed cost for removing any one point from the set. The visualization was done in Unity, and was geared as an Oculus Rift demo.

Sam is an application developer and software engineering instructor historically working on a diverse 'good works' projects for clients ranging from the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center to Stanford University. His early career was spent developing a national anti-poverty project and as a core contributor to a large Open Source urban forestry platform. This piece was done as part of the MS in Computer Science at Nova Southeastern.
