There may be more talking done in this trailer than in all the chapters of the original manga combined...XD

Blame! was FUCKING AMAZING.

I remember reading the manga and being blown away by it. The visuals were stunning.

So I’m a huge fan of the Blame! manga and I watched this film on Netflix when it came out; wasn’t a fan of the animation style when it was first announced but I said “hell, I’m happy this manga is actually getting a film and being recognized, I’m gonna give this a watch ...” Man I wasn’t disappointed. They got the atmosphere and most of the characters spot on compared to the manga, and even though there were some scenes I wanted to see, they cut out or replaced with other scenes, I still enjoyed the hell out of this film, the soundtrack was great as well. If they end up making another one which I hope to god they do because Blame! is a dark-cyberpunk atmospherical experience, and there are still parts of the manga that have to be explored.

I once read a comment, a meme one, that Blame! is basically "Weirid kiddo looking for internet connection in a big mall" and now i imagine just strolling into Macdonalds or some caffee and saying "I'm searching for a human who posseses Net Terminal Genes" while looking for Wi-Fi

"Said to be visually impossible"
*gives it to a studio that nobody's ever heard of before*

While being CGI, it was honestly amazing. I didn't mind the CGI at all, and grew to love it. Amazing visuals and the City was daunting in scale. Excellent work!

I watched this when it first came out and OMFG I just loved the world building. Really wish they would make a sequel or anime series of this!

Polygon is the proof that CGI can be awesome! I really wish the Berserk anime looked as good as Ajin...

Some of the frames in this trailer remind me of the type of animation that we saw in Knights of Sidonia, which I really enjoyed, and other shots are conjuring up imagery from The Animatrix which is one of my all-time favorite animes. I'm wondering if some of the people who were involved in the creation of either of those two projects are in some way affiliated with this. Even if that's not the case, this looks like it will turn out to be quite good. A must see for me!

Hyped, I don't care if anime is 3D or 2D as long as it is good. I just hope it is as good as Knights of Sidonia.

Though I'm extremely excited to see this, I do worry about the execution of this story.

BLAME! is supposed to have a ambient and deeply reflective feel to it the visual elements of the story -- akin to Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey or Terrence Malick's The Tree of Life. The manga has very few words and part of the story is told through environment, ambiguation, and philosophy.

Where I can appreciate and understand the producers and directors imagining this story as a single movie, rather than a dragged out visual piece of ambient emptiness. What worries me is how this story will be told in the movie. It's not meant to be fast paced, it's meant to feel isolated, cold, alone, lost, and scared. Mr. Nihei's vision is intended to reflect that and this trailer showed me a fast-paced action flick. Hopefully the trailer just has a different vibe than the actual movie to interest fans not familiar with BLAME! already.

Also, I remember the Synthetics being WAY more twisted and intimidating in the novel over these Will Smith's iRobot looking guys. Their faces in this trailer look all cute, not uncanny at all. What do you all think of the Synthetics, do their looks have the same feel to you in this trailer as they did in the manga?

I read the manga a couple of years ago, i was amazed by the work nihei did, the art was amazing and it didn't need too much dialogue to be a great story.

I expect less dialogue and more visual storytelling. The original manga barely has any dialogue. And, sadly, with colors, and with this style of animation, kind of loss the claustrophobic air of those amazing buildings and structures, I don't know how to describe it, but here, the world looks more "alive".
But I have trust in the team behind this, Knights of sidonia (especially 2n season) and Ajin were amazing in character development, avoid several anime cliches and overall were all fun to watch.

I've watched it just now on Netflix. About 10-20 minutes in, I realized there is an English voice version. Nothing wrong with the Japanese with subtitles, it's just I like it better if I can absorb all the graphics and animations without having to read text. Great movie! I recommend it to anyone who likes a good story with a mix of mystery and action scenes that fit the story without being overdone.

This was a good watch, I can only hope they make a series out of the manga, that would be so epic!

I LOVED this movie!! The action and story are super interesting and the animation is fantastic! It has come a long way since Knights of Sidonia and Ajin.
