As a construction worker I am both intrigued and terrified. Those drills aint cheap and I'd imagine this would burn up even a brushless within a month of regular use.

This sounds like a great way to overheat the motor inside the drill!! Cordless drills aren't designed to be able to run continuously like this.

Some of yall dont seem to understand what a proof of concept is. This isnt supposed to go to large scale production, and if it only lasted 3 min before cooking, how do you figure its fine after a whole days use

Not horrible but the motor in that drill is significantly undersized compared to most electric bike systems. The windings in your typical bike motor are more similar in size to those you would find in an electric miter saw. The drill motors winding are a lot closer in size to those of an lower end electric skateboard.

Its amazing how well made these drills can be. I think a lot of idiots are either caught up in brand wars or are the type of people that try to use their drill underwater. But this contraption is a good analogy for how powerful they actually are.
Obviously, a lot of this is gearing. But its still simply impressive. Anyone agree?
