They are making the initial investment for 3D printers a lot smaller. Or the use of re-casters

Like many companies I think 2023 might be GW's hardest hit year financially. I have never purchased so LITTLE for my hobby in 2022..and have sold off all but 1 army. 2023 I have told myself absolutely 0 purchases for the hobby until my current army is finished, and I have enough to last me well into 2024.
A single bin of groceries is $100 Canadian now. I'm much more concerned about putting food on the table, covering daycare costs and affording gas to get to and from work.
I love the Warhammer universe and will continue to be a big fan for the rest of my life, but GW needs to give their heads a shake. These are luxury items. Hobby items.. The first thing to go when people fall on hard times. My wife and I both have good government jobs in emergency services.. And we are feeling the squeeze hard. A basic starter home in Ontario is now $1 million. For a townhouse. EVERYTHING is going up like crazy here..we never go to restaurants anymore. We are all about to fall on some very hard times.. This is just the beginning. Interested to see if this is the final straw for most fans, I know it is for me. I don't play the games but I have a feeling my local FLGS will close up shop in the next year or so because of this. I won't be purchasing from him at all this year.. where I used to drop a couple thousand a year no problem. It's just insane now.
Thanks for the info.. I always enjoy watching your videos and seeing the comments just to see how others are feeling. I'm not a GW hater, I love the hobby and I love the universe they created.. I hope my son can enjoy it with me one day. If the prices keep increasing though, it just won't happen.

Guard was my first army back in 2005. It's nuts how they've legitimately gone to half the models at twice the price. The new sculpts aren't bad, but I'm just sore disappointed with their trends getting worse. 65 bucks for 2010 Grey Knights strike marines is also a slap in the face, but that's been a minute. I'm sure plenty of people will be happy to buy the same stuff with a shiny new coat of paint for a major markup, but all this is doing is making me look at ebay to rehome some older kits for a major discount

Im not fu**ing surprised. Gw is never going to learn from their mistakes. Price increase equals less sales. Thats what happens to them and they deserve it.

if you halved every price, i would still think its far too much. selling small amounts of small pieces of plastic costs so little most companies don't even think to charge for it, for games workshop its the most expensive bits of plastic in the world. i pray for the day this company dies and gets buried in an extremely cheap 3d printed coffin.

Even greater disparity between the price of a bottle of resin and the price of GW branded plastic!

Having been printing myself for a year now, so many friends jumped on board and bought resin printers for themselves this Christmas.

Glad I just got my Baneblade shipped from the UK for 100 bucks. I grabbed a Leman Russ for about 40 USD too, and its the same kit that came out around 5th edtition.

I hope GW keeps those Guard tanks at $60. Unlike Sisters who I’ve seen take 0-2, Guard drop them on the table like M&Ms out of the bag.

The individual unit prices have been set a lot higher for awhile. I think the miliatarum stuff is just the latest to get "updated." GWs strat though has been to just increase the bundle deals to get more sales. The vanguard and combat patrols seem to be doing well and having expensive individual units only make those bundle deals look better to buyers. IT's not the end of the world to me because I don't mind patiently waiting for cheaper stuff to show up on ebay but, it is definitely frustrating when they roll out a new army you want to play.

Just purchased a 3d Printer, sick and tired of GW bumping the prices. Plus the models the 3d artists are easy on par with what GW does.

So you're saying 3d printer go brrr? Funny, mine is at the moment. Although right now its making some custom armor plates for the Chainbreaker Lance I managed to pick up for Christmas.

Another 15%? WoW! This may just be the end of the hobby for me. I don't really want to print stuff unless it looks 1:1 too. GW squeezing the sellers and the buyers, wow.

One correction for you. Combat patrol will be the same model count as Cadia stands. Not ten cadians less.

I guess 2023 and 2024 will be the years where my hobby will live on new edition starter boxes, 2025 and onward will be 3D printing, because it becomes the better option as days go on.

Of course this means no official GW tournaments... but I seriously couldn't care less about those.
