My Faber-Castell Loom is a daily writer and is incredible !!

I have the Faber Castell Ambition, which is the same body design but for $100 rather than $240. It has a different cap and nib, but it is an amazing pen, and worth checking out in my opinion if the $240 price tag is a deal breaker for someone. Great video!

After owning pretty much a fountain pen from each house, the best by far is faber castell. Quality+writing quality+cool designs, doesn't get any better than that. My all time favorite fountain pen is the magnum

Faber Castell nibs have never disappointed me either. As one who prefers Japanese nibs, Faber Castell does a great job.

I have had Faber-Castell pens in the past, but never a Graf Faber-Castell. There is a difference I am sure in the quality of the pen. Considering it is hand made, as well as the fit and finish, I will be looking for this one. It is a bit thin but considering the size of your hands and how you enjoyed using it, it is certainly worthy of consideration.

Great review.

Doodlebud, I have the same colour GVFC Tamitio in M which I got 6 months earlier and since then has been in my constant rotation. This is definitely a pen to have for business meetings, a quick in and out. On writing, the medium nib is juicy enough for my taste. Nice review as always!

I have a Timitio Finewriter, and enjoy using it.

Very pretty pen. I'm glad to know the lack of a grip section isn't really a problem.

Thanks DB for the great review. I always appreciate your engineering read on fountain pens. I have three GvFC Tamitio fountain pens: Stone Grey, India Red and black (like the one you are reviewing). I have kept at least two inked and on my desk in a pen stand since first writing with one. I haven’t had a problem with drying out with daily use… but if I’m out of town for a week one may be slow to start of will require dipping in some water to get it going. This is when they are in the pen stand, nib up (drying usually happens with the one with the cartridge instead of a converter). I haven’t noticed drying problems with them stored on their side.

Hey it's the Doppler effect. GvFC makes some fantastic pens. Most are just so thin, and small for me. The gold nib I tried was exquisite, and Faber Castell just makes the best steel nibs.

Faber-Castell make very nice steel nibs, so I'm not surprised this one was so good. One of our club members who is/was a professional calligrapher bought the calligraphy set version of the Tamitio (which comes with three wide nibs -- 1.1 mm, 1.4 mm, 1.8 mm ) and he liked it so I figured it wrote well. I noticed that Blesket sells the calligraphy kit on their site. Anyway, thanks for a great review and a sneak peek at your song lyrics (which immediately reminded me of Spinal Tap for some reason lol) -- you're a budding genius!😉

Nice review. When anyone holds a Graf von Faber-Castell pen, they realize they're holding a quality pen, and that includes how it writes. Initially I too was concerned about most Graf pens being on the narrower side, but with their weight and balance - and that great nib - I have no trouble at all. It''s not a "precious resin" (i.e., plastic) pen, so it doesn't have to be gripped like one. Hopefully you'll treat yourself to a Graf with a gold nib at some point in time...and you will love it...their gold nibs are superb.

The German word "Graf"is the equivalent of the English aristocratic title, "Count." And yes, there is a current living Graf von Faber-Castell who heads the company. So it's his name and his family history that's on the line with every pen they produce. It's not like many other pen companies that are owned by large conglomerates. Pelikan, for example, has been owned by a Malaysian financial conglomerate since 1978. That's not to diminish Pelikan' in any way, and I happily own a number of Pelikan pens. But with Graf von Faber-Castell we're really talking about a higher level of quality pen construction and manufacturing, including the in-house production of all their nibs.

Their much more moderately priced standard line, Faber-Castell, also makes a number of pens that are attractive, well-made, and with probably the best steel nibs being made today. I own five or six of them and they are all without exception wonderful writers. If you want to discover how well a quality steel nib can write, treat yourself to a Faber-Castell or a Graf von Faber-Castell Tamitio.

Those shots of you rolling the pen made me giggle like a school girl! You’re the best DB!

Excellent. GVFC is a great manufacturer. everything is spot on and well made. Even though though its pens are expensive, I think they are worth it. Much better made than some other high end pens. All great writers as well.

Damn you. I've tried to wean myself off my pen addiction, but I found your channel and now I have the Gravitas stainless steel pocket pen (in nerd heaven), and now you got me heading towards my pen stores to check this out. Damn, damn, damn!😂

Had not heard of this one. Think it will be my first Faber Castell pen. The price is all over the place but I found some around the 120€ range here in Germany. Great review as always.

I thought there were only three or four "stationary stores" left in the GTA (Toronto) and all of them a prohibitive PITA to drive to, which is significant when shipping ink by Canada Post in winter. Never heard of Blesket until this video, but what a coincidence -- it is less than 5 km from where I work!! So I'm placing my order today for pickup this week (they have a rare BP I've been hunting for months, and 2 RO blues, in stock!) and of course shall disclose how I found them (regardless of your discount code) so thank you Doodlebud!! 😀
