My hair is exactly like Burgandi's. I have up to 90 percent shrinkage so I mostly wear my hair in twists or braids to minimize single strand knots. I have been natural for 3 years and 7 months. Detangling takes me an hour or more; it doesn't matter if I use a detangling tool or my fingers. I definitely have more breakage on the sides of my hair and crown but treating and isolating those areas to give them more moisture has helped. The breakage happens mostly due to friction from sleeping on my sides and the sun drying out those areas more. I've added wrapping my hair in a satin scarf before my satin bonnet and that is helping keep my hair more moisturized. Listening to a great playlist while washing and detangling m hair has definitely helped me relax and be more gentle with my hair.

I have I believe 3b, 3c and 4a type hair. As I've gotten older its become more difficult to style my hair. I just mainly wear protective styles

3c on the front. Also 3c on the sides top layers but 4b underneath those top layers. 4a the entire back section.

I have 3c, 4a, 4b and 4c. Sometimes I get so frustrated when trying to wear my natural hair. I mostly wear protective styles.

When I first went natural my hair was without a doubt 3C/4a but over time my hair has loosened to a 3b/3c in the front, on the sides and crown and 4a in the back but I miss my tighter curls all around

My hair in the back is 3C and the rest of it is 4C. The area in which my hair is the bulkiest is the middle. As for my right and left side, though it has receded, it's gradually growing. So, that's good! Just like Bobbi, I tend to have a weak side, too, it's just that mine is my right side that tends to suffer more than my left due to my trichotillomania. However, I will say that it has definitely improved over the years.

I stopped trying to figure out my hair type because I fall in the combination of a 3 and 4. I focus on what my hair likes.

Thank you for all you do. You really help us. I just want to say that afros come in different textures also due to admixture. Hair genes have the ability to somewhat "merge" to a more or lesser degree and sometimes that "variation" of afro hair "strands" will show up on ONE head of hair. Not so much due to what side you sleep or put friction on. That's why some people have coarse hair on parts of their head that they don't sleep on or rub. It's just your curly hair afro expressing itself in different ways. When I style my hair I try so hard to make it look aesthetically "uniform". One part flops, is kinky straight, barely curls up and sometimes even sticks up out of my curls when I define them. It needs more control. Another part of my head makes hanging ringlets. It can be a challenge getting a cohesive. (Rarely is anything in this world technically perfect no matter what the reason is and even if its not noticeable.) Anyway, again I just wanted to share that as well as thank you for being who you are.

All of you are extremely beautiful and every time I come on here I always learn so much. Burgundy, you look really nice and I can tell you are well on your way to becoming the beautiful natural queen that you are destined to be. Bobbi, I personally love your personality and how very real you keep it when it comes to styling your hair. You are what makes this channel more trustable and relatable! Honestly, I am glad that I stumbled upon this channel and I have to admit that Keziah you are my curly idol. I love reading your emails and how you greet us viewers. To everyone stay safe during the holidays and may your families remain blessed and if possible could one of you all do a video on how to properly finger coil?
