I live in Western Portland not even downtown and not mentioning homelessness is a diservice to viewers. This can definity be a daily part of your life far outside of downtown.

The soft on crime policies of Oregon would keep me from moving there. Thankfully the US is full of places to live which will match your values, politics, and budget. I am sure there are lots of people who would like those policies. Also, It does not rain everyday but it sure is cloudy a lot. Oregon is beautiful though.

Back in 2003 Porland Oregon was a safe place to live
In 2022 it might not be as safe as back then.
However it is a great place to have a College or University education.

Would you say you prefer living in Portland Oregon over North Idaho? I'm been thinking of visiting Washington(west of Spokane) for a potential move, but, like anywhere else, I like to get the vibe of the energy & people before I decide to move anywhere; I've been coming up here from Northeast Florida ever since I was a wee lad(mainly in the summer, but sometimes in the winters also), and I have since lived here in North Idaho fulltime for a little over 3 years now(although it feels a wee bit longer at times lol); I was wondering how you yourself as a North Idahoan feels living now in Portland(I stayed there for a couple of months a few years ago, and it was an enjoyable experience indeed, even though I feel like Washington may potentially be a better fit, but again, it may be worth the visit sometime in the future indeed)

I moved to Portland two years ago and love it. Are there problems? Yeah, most cities do. But I found a beautiful house on a cul de sac, neighbors are awesome, and I feel safe. I’m here to stay. 👍👍

When houses sit for longer, it means corporate America can buy homes and can afford to sit on them for longer to hold out for higher rents. Idk how OR is run but I know Texas is like this.

The houses are simply beautiful and Science wise Oregon is a great state to live within the United States of America.
Your housing situation is simply great.
With about 45.000 US Dollars to about 93.000 US Dollars one Can have a great house with nice rooms for thy family of about 4 to give kids.

I was just in Portland last week. Stayed in the city and ventured off to the coast which is absolutely breath-taking!! Portland was very fun. There were some areas (financial area, expensive shops in downtown) that were still boarded up. However, there were tons of restaurants, bars, pubs, breweries that were open. We had a blast! And everyone was so friendly. If you do run into homeless, transients...etc, they don't bother anyone and walking around the city I felt was safe. Prices are a bit high for dining, drinking, Uber...but I thought it was a beautiful city and look forward to visiting again. Oh btw...GREAT COFFEE!!

My son moved to Portland in Jan. 2022 and loves it there. We've visited a number of times and are considering trying it out for future retirement. Do home values hold pretty well in the Slabtown/Nob Hill area? We'd probably buy an apartment/condo.

I live in Texas, and five days a week I travel the local hwy and freeway system.
I have noticed a lot of, out of state plates, since Biden took office.
California, Oregon, Washington, Georgia, North Carolina, New York.
All of these places are controlled by Democrats...I guess people can't leave fast enough from the chaos.

The normal plates would be, Louisiana, Mississippi and Oklahoma.

Excuse me, but it takes you 9:25 minutes to finally start talking about something important, everything before that, you're just redundant asking the same questions, you're talking a lot but not saying anything significant.... just babbling on.... Stop wasting the viewers time, and get to the point already!
