Haki became a thing because One Piece didn’t end in five years like Oda planned. Everything was set to end but the manga’s popularity made the story longer. Haki was introduced to explain how Roger and Garp could whoop ass without devil fruits. Since 80 percent of the story was already told by the time of Skypea Arc.

Obviously Hali wasn’t planned and the one piece was suppose to be “about the journey” until oda started getting comments saying if that was what the one piece was they would Fck him up😂 like to the point he came out and said that “the one piece is a real physical treasure” and that it won’t be some stupid “frendship realizing thing” man’s a legend now but one piece has theee most plot holes ever and the most characters forgotten and plot points changed it’s great
